We are looking for hospice adopters! We currently have a number of dogs in our care that we would consider hospice due to heart issues, kidney issues, dementia, etc.

We’ve been doing this long enough to know that we have no idea how much time a hospice dog has left. Dogs who we thought had weeks have lived for years and dogs who we thought were pretty healthy have passed in weeks. So, we need our hospice adopters to be prepared for anything. You would be responsible for vet bills but we usually encourage palliative care for our hospice dogs - no big surgeries or long hospital stays. Just keep them comfortable and happy.

We need hospice adopters who are comfortable administering medications and who will recognize when it’s time to say goodbye. While taking care of a hospice dog is very rewarding, we really need people who are doing this for the dog and recognize when their quality of life is suffering.

ALL dogs shed year round very much like we do. Hair is constantly falling out and re-growing.

De-shedding should be done regularly, and once you’re on a good schedule, the effects will be more noticeable.
