ALOHA OHANA AND HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!! (eve)

We will be closing this evening at 6 pm and closed tomorrow, July 4 in observance of the holiday. We will reopen Friday, July 5 with our normal business hours.

It is so hard to find the right words to express how incredibly saddened we all are here at Ohana to hear of Dr Kent Smith's sudden passing. He was truly a wonderful doctor who went above and beyond for his patients and their families. Our hearts go out to all who knew him, especially his family, coworkers and close friends. We will be keeping them in our thoughts and prayers as they find a way to navigate this unimaginable tragedy. Sending hopes for peace and strength to all who are grieving his loss.

We are profoundly heartbroken to announce that our beloved Dr. Kent Smith passed away unexpectedly last night, at his residence.

We are closed today but will reopen tomorrow, Friday June 28 8 am-6 pm and Saturday 8 am-7 pm

We hope you are staying cool in these crazy hot temperatures. Tomorrow is supposed to be a real doozy!! Just a reminder if the pavement is too hot for you, it is too hot for your furry friends. Make sure they have plenty of shade when outdoors and access to fresh water, limit their time outside and exercise as much as possible. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions. FOSTER NEEDED!!
This sweet girl was found wandering around in Luray and is currently at Page County Shelter. The good samaritan (a member of our Ohana) who found her has also found a rescue that will take her but they need a foster home. Anyone who is interested please comment and we will connect you. Urgently needed as Page County Shelter is at max capacity. 🩵

It's been a while since a puppy pic was shared, so I have a super cute one to make up for it!! This is Lily, a Great Dane baby who at the time was 4 months old. Love her Dalmation-like coloring!! This color variation is known a Harlequin. She may end up a little too big for a firetruck!!

Last but not least, Get to know our Client Care Manager, Cara!

Cara has been a part of our pack for 7 years and is best known for her radiant personality and kind heart. I guess occasionally her jokes too. She is a fur momma to a zoo including two dogs (Posy & Eleanor), one cat (Maui), a guinea pig named Willow, and two gerbils Charlie and Schmitz. Not only does she care for her zoo, but she also has three amazing human kids! When Cara isn’t at the clinic, she is doing everything arts and crafts (she has even done some projects at the clinic), renovating her home, spending time with her family and relaxing on a beach as much as she can. She is also the mastermind behind our joke board in the lobby with occasional help from her co-workers. Cara began in this industry over 20 years ago and has always felt a deep connection with animals. She loves seeing all our patients come in with their unique, loving, and sassy personalities. Thank you for all that you do for everyone at Ohana! You are so appreciated!

Get to know Dawn:

Dawn recently joined our Ohana team last summer. She loves all animals big or small, furry or not, but she tends to gravitate towards our feline patients. She has five kitties of her own named Ashes, Westley, Miracle Max, June and Sky. When you see Dawn at the clinic you more than likely will never see her without her Starbucks Mocha Frappuccino and a smile on her face. When she isn’t at the clinic, she is running her own pet sitting business or trying to find the next Metallica concert. Dawn enjoys making a difference in the lives of all furry critters and being their advocate for excellent care! We appreciate your kind and loving heart that spreads to everyone at Ohana. Thank you for being apart of the team!

Get to know Amelia:

Don’t let her fun size appearance fool you. She is full of sass and has a huge personality. She is a fur momma to her beagle mix Delilah and has two brother pitties Chance and Riley. She loves everything pitties and hounds, iced coffee, and Harry Styles. At the clinic you will typically see her with various fidget toys while multitasking answering e-mails and phone calls. If we ever need to remember a name or something involving a patient she remembers everything about your pets! When she isn’t in the clinic giving all our patients unlimited love and treats, she is spending time with her fiancé and friends, travelling, thrift store shopping, going to concerts and going on adventures. If you want to know about any music, she’s your girl to go to! She is most known for her infectious laugh and her eccentric personality. There is never a dull moment with Amelia around. Amelia has been passionate about animal rights for as long as she can remember. Her biggest passion is making sure they are provided with the care that is best for them and what they deserve. She is one of a kind and we are forever grateful to have her be a part of our Ohana. You are so appreciated for everything that you do!

Get to know to Brittany:

You all know and love her! She has been apart of our family for 5 years now and is such a vital person in our clinic. Occasionally you will see her up front, but most of you know her as the nutrition guru and pharmacy expertise. She is a fur mama of three crazy pups Brixx, Charles, and Rumi. When she isn’t at the clinic supporting your pets’ needs, she is exploring new restaurants, going to concerts, researching everything veterinary, or spending time with her family! Brittany fell in love with veterinary medicine at a young age from going to the racehorse training farms with her grandfather. Brittany’s favorite part of veterinary medicine is seeing all your pets thriving and happy. Her family even calls her Dr.Dolittle based on her soul connection with animals. Check out these pictures of her rowdy crew that constantly keeps her on her toes. 💜 We love and appreciate all that you do for everyone Brittany!
