Goose Goose - Hard to believe he is the same horse that we picked up at the end of October severly under weight - he still has a way to go but he has gained weight so nicely in a short period of time. Good nutrition goes a long way!

2 equally special horses in one picture -
On the left is a homebred yearling who has yet to prove himself good at anything but eating; he is the result of careful selection, hopes and dreams and years of trying. He is well mannered, athletic and a total ham and thats all he has to be good at right now. We think he is special!
On the right is a mare that has proved herself good at everything time and time again. She may not look much now but she is well travelled and has more accolades than fit on a wall. She's 26 now and has spent the last 8 years in full retirement and has earned every bit of it! We think she is special!
Young, old and everywhere in between,
Horses are the keepers of our hopes and dreams!

What a weekend - a few days of stress with a wildfire way too close to us! We were able to get all the horses out safely and are extremely thankful that the fire was contained at 200 acres without any structure damage in the area. Huge thanks goes out to Alana Scarber, Heather and Ramona, Yazel and Paige and her Mulberry Stables for all the help and of course the local FD's and the Forest Service for their incredible response!!

Our newest addition was born to our mini cow Maebel today - a little mini hereford heifer: she had a rough introduction to the world following a bad night of storms. Thankfully Chris checked on them this morning because Maebel was in full labor. We pulled the trailer out in the muddy mess and hauled Mama cow to the vet because she was having a little labor trouble but now both Mama and baby are doing great!

We found a kitten clinging to a tree in an empty parking lot on the side of the highway - it was storming outside and we only pulled in to do a u turn.
