If your looking for something to get you noticed, Tito is your guy! He is a gorgeous, bay gelding with the build, bone, and foot to do whatever you will want to do! This 4 year old 14.3 hand AQHA gelding was lightly started last summer with about 10 rides and is ready for someone to take him and make him their own. With his breeding, he will be able to go whichever direction you want to go in or out of the arena. He has a sweet and willing personality, and wants to please you! He will continue to be rode and worked with until sold, but if he gets a solid start on him he won't be this cheap or avaliable at all.

If your looking for something flashy, big b***d, and athletic, look no further! This classy 5 year old AQHA gelding has the looks and brains, with a pedigree to back it all up. He stands right at 15 hands with a nice stocky build and substance underneath him.

He is by JD Wily Chipperwood who has sired numerous standout arena horses, including my personal good rope horse, as well as solid ranch horses. His dam is by the one and only Playgun to give you that quickness and coe sense. I had high hopes to make him my next breakaway horse, as he acts just like my good horse who is also by Chipperwood, but with a new baby this spring I'm not going to be roping for awhile and he needs to be someone's number one.

He rides around very nicely in the arena, is soft and moves off your legs. Knows his leads, will turn around, and sit down to stop. We have also used him outside gathering big Sandhills pastures and sorting cattle. He is not for a beginner or inexperienced rider as he is quick footed and sensitive. If you get after him, he will move and try to figure out what you want, so a quiet rider is a must. I have no doubt he will make a top notch rope horse with the perfect jockey. I have tracked a few calves on him but have not roped off of him yet. He really wants to sit down and stop, and should have a lot if pull for calf roping. My plan for him is to make him my personal next rope horse, but he has been on the back burner and he has too much talent to sit and wait.

Taz bathes, trims, loads, ties, and has been hauled a handful of times. He gets along with other horses and is easy to catch. He can be ear shy but comes out of it quick and gets better all the time. He is the first one to the gate and loves attention. Taz is ready to make someone a standout arena horse or be the best ranch horse on the place.

He is a ranch horse deluxe!

Ricky stands a very stout made 2013 model grade gelding, 14.2h, broke and has a great handle with a pretty trot, smooth lope, and a big stop. If you need a horse to go to the pasture with and get some work done, Ricky is your guy! He will go do any job he is asked with a great work ethic and a willingness to go all day long. He is as tough as the day is long, and has a ton of pull. He is fun to rope on in the branding pen, and will walk out at a leisure checking pastures. When needed, he has the speed needed to run down an unruly calf who doesn’t want to stay with the herd. Ricky does best when he has a constant job so he is not recommended for a beginner. Can be fresh with extensive time off. He is not nasty about it and honest when he will do it and lunges right out of it. Hop right on and he's ready to work all day long without hesitation.

He has been lightly started in the breakaway and has been pen roped off of. We bought him as a heel horse but have not heeled on him so I cannot attest to how he is at that. It won't take long to finish him in the arena and you will have an outstanding horse to haul to the ropings on the weekend. With his size and quickness, he will make one wicked rope horse, and look good doing it. Did I mention he has a pretty BIG STOP? He will bury in the ground if you sit down and ask him!

Ricky bathes, shoes, loads, and hauls with no problem. His teeth were floated in the spring of 2023 and he is up to date on vaccinations.

If your wanting a solid ranch horse to get your chores done, and look good doing it, don't pass up on this phenomenal gelding. He is getting back into shape now and ready to work for you. He's the kind to saddle up at dawn, and will work until dusk.

We will have a few exceptional geldings for sale later this summer! I am off maternity leave and getting back at it! This is a great chance to get a Blomenkamp Performance Horses started horse as we are not taking any horses in to be started this year!

This is one of my biggest pet peeves and I cringe when I see this anywhere I go. This is a wreck waiting to happen!! When you go to bridle your horse, untie your halter! Put your halter away, in the trailer, something but do not leave it tied hanging on the side of your trailer. I've seen too many wrecks people or horses getting caught on the halter and then there's a big wreck.

30 DAYS IS NOT ENOUGH! 60 DAYS IS NOT ENOUGH! A well rounded, well trained horse takes years to develop and they are worth the investment. Good training isn't quick. Good trainers aren't cheap. When you take an un-started horse to a trainer, 30 days is not enough. The bare minimum should be 90 days. Longer is better. Yes, it costs money. Horses cost money and there is no way around it. Make sure you choose a trainer who is honest about this and isn't just trying to keep your horse longer for the money. Sit in on sessions once your horse is in training and ask questions. 30 days is not enough for the majority of horse owners to step in and continue with the success of the horse. You’re setting the horse up for failure. If you’ve taken the horse out of training too soon, not only will it affect the horse but you're also setting blame for the “bad trainer” that didn't get your horse broke and kid safe in 30 days.
In most cases, what your horse and trainer can do together after 30, 60 and 90 days are not what you and your horse can do together. This means you need to be engaged in the process with your horse, in lessons and seeking to learn yourself if you want to recreate the education your horse is receiving.
The expectation of a 90 day horse is that they now have a solid foundation of the BASICS. What those basics are will vary from horse to horse, age and trainer, but understand that you do not have a finished horse by any stretch of the imagination... and you don't usually have a beginner safe horse. Having the expectation that this is possible, is unfair to the horse. Remember, your horse won't necessarily retain ALL of what they have learned when they go back home unless you continue to work with your horse consistently and with a similar set of skills. Set realistic goals and put the time in that your horse needs and deserves, it's worth the investment!

Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!

I hope you find at least one thing to be thankful for, not only today, but everyday. What a gift it is to live and do what we love! 💕

We have a ton to be thankful this past year, from good horses to the beautiful rains we were blessed with to bountiful hay crops and everything in between. We are thankful for it all.

We are most thankful to begin our journey as a family, as our little one joins us this spring! ❤️

Crown is getting promoted! After packing us around the last few years, and me around pregnant this fall, his role is going to be changing and we couldn't be happier!

Our little family is growing by two feet 👣

We have been anxiously awaiting this day, and are overjoyed for what is to come. This is a new journey for us, and it will be the best one yet! Our little bundle of joy will join us in March and we couldn't be happier! God is so good! 🤍

We love getting updates on horses we have started and sold here at Blomenkamp Performance Horses! This is a 2 year old we had the privilege of starting and selling to his forever home! We can't wait to see what Chet and Bo accomplish in the show pen! He was sure one that had a personality 💜 This is what training is all about. We love giving those 2 year olds a solid foundation, helping prepare them for their future.

To the trainers who are trying their best—remember:

Not every horse will leave your facility in a place where you feel 100% confident in where they are at with their training.

Not every horse will “make it” at the level your customer expects.

Not every customer will be able to continue a horse’s training the way that you would have.

Not every customer will take the time to learn how to use their horse to its full potential.

Not every customer will give you the opportunity to spend the time you need to make a horse truly great.

Not everyone will appreciate your approach, or understand your training philosophy.

But, also remember that…

There will be plenty of great customers who appreciate your perspective and program.

There will be many wonderful people with talented horses that will cross your path.

There will someday be an opportunity to ride that once-in-a-lifetime horse that you will get to put your mark on.

There will be ample opportunities to educate and empower your customers to reach their full potential with their horses.

There will be plenty of happy people who give you a call to tell you about all the success they are having with their horses.

There will be endless opportunities to feel grateful and blessed about the people and horses you get to work with everyday.

The strongest asset you can have as a horse trainer is perspective. Focus on the good, and the good gets better.

We LOVE getting updates on our past horses!

We started this filly as a 2 year old, then she was sold to Jessica Lovitt. Since then, they have been doing great things! This was this mares first runs in a big pen! Looks like she will be a natural! This is why we are so particular on putting a solid foundation on our horses, we are setting them up for the rest of their careers.

First rides and a first saddling on this beautiful Sunday!

2 years ago I started a full sister too the first c**t, so when Dennis Bammerlin got a stud c**t out of that mare, we jumped on it! He is HUGE and quite the athlete with a big soft eye. 🖤

The second c**t is by a son of HF Mobster and boy he is cool! We currently have him listed for sale, but he might stay around if he keeps riding like this! 🤩

Third c**t is a 3 year old we bought this spring, and I think he will be something special! He is Pitzer bred and eligible.

Update! He had his first ride and did outstanding! Already wants to sit down and stop, going to make a heck of a horse!

Throwing around the idea of letting this 2021 gelding go. I really don't need him, and he has the bloodlines to go do big things! He is built like one should be and has all the brains to go with it! He is a total sweetheart and loves to be loved on! I have done lots of groundwork with him and he has been saddled. He leads, loads, ties, trims, saddles, lunges, all the good stuff. I do not have to sell him and have no problem starting him this summer. Might make someone a deal if you buy him and we start him for you! He is that sweet, I can't wait to put the first rides on him! But he will be started shortly so get him before his price goes up or I decide not to let him go! Located in Broadwater, NE

It’s Sunday.

Mary Magdalene and some friends head to the tomb to anoint Jesus’ body. When they arrive the stone is rolled away.

The tomb is empty.

An Angel appears and tells them - Don’t be afraid. I know you’re looking for Jesus but he isn’t here. He’s risen from the dead, just as he promised he would.

A risen Jesus has walked out.

Fearful but joyful all the same, the women go to tell the disciples as instructed.

Along the way Mary encounters Jesus. Jesus assures her - don’t be afraid. He sends her back on her way to inform the disciples.

Mary finds the disciples and insists Jesus is alive. They’re doubtful. But, just as he said he would, Jesus reveals himself to the disciples.

He gives them these instructions - go out unto the nations and preach the good news. Teach them to obey the commandments I have given. Those who believe will be saved and those who refuse to believe will be condemned. And remember, I am with you always.

Jesus ascends into Heaven. He sits down at the right hand of the father. He remains there today.

Death couldn’t handle him.
The grave couldn’t hold him.

He’s alive. Risen. King of kings. Lord of lords.

A promise fulfilled.

Do you know him?

Today is Sunday. Thank you Jesus, for Sunday.

I took a final ride on Rio the other evening, before he left for his new home. Bridled him up and went for a stroll around the yard, appreciating this life we are given. What a life we get to live because of horses like him. All the effort and hours, tears and sweat put into them, finally paying off as they head to their new home. That doesn’t make saying goodbye to them any easier, but seeing what he has become makes it worth it. I pray he impresses his new family and I hope he is everything they are wanting, and more.

I spent the evening brushing him, braiding his mane and tail, loved on him, gave him a big hug, and thanked him for everything he has given us and our little program. 🤍

I pray I never lose that bittersweet feeling of making and selling a good one. Make us proud, Rio! 🖤
