Infested with lice discovered in someone's cold crawl space! This will be a lengthy, challenging process to ensure we control the lice and eggs and prevent them from affecting our other cats and kittens, but how could we not assist?

Following a difficult start, Butternut, formerly Tigger, has settled into a loving home. His first family was forced to part with him when the owner required nursing care, and the initial rescue facility he was taken to considered euthanasia. Although he was initially growling, he quickly adjusted and showcased his affectionate personality. Look at him now. We love a happy ending, as it validates our tireless efforts and commitment.
😻YEAH BUTTERNUT and NEW FAMILY😻 😸ANOTHER GREAT WIN😸

WE HATE TO SEE THINGS WASTED WHEN OTHERS CAN USE THEM
SO….
WE DO NOT TAKE LITTERBOXES (new or used) or COMFORTERS or PILLOWS or SHEETS! please look for other places to donate these items that could use them. thank you
SINCERELY,
Mr. Grey's Strays
we love and can always use pillow cases/ wash clothes /empty litter buckets.
I hope that clarifies everything for everyone 😜

UPDATE> threw up again today still on cerenia. Her bowls were normal for the first time since getting her (nothing foreign in it today.) Still giving hairball formula liquid hoping to keep things moving. Nothing was seen for blockage luckily but I will be watching closely and will bring back in if needed for sure. She is eating and maybe the throwup was due to eating too much. (having true food to eat) No longer dehydrated so no fluids today
we named her ORCA xoxo

This kitty was trapped from the outside, trying to survive, throwing up and defecating Plastic thorns and I can’t tell what else is in there, but it definitely isn’t good.

We successfully located and reunited two yes 2 microchiped cats with their owners this week, highlighting the importance of microchipping pets, even if escape seems unlikely, as this ensures their safe return home. Please always microchip your animals! You never know! Microchips helped these two get back home💗

OWNERS FOUND!!! We put in a Microchip so hopefully she does not run off again, but if she does, we can find her home faster another happy ending that makes 3 this week!
Her name is 💋KAREN💋

ALBION AREA
Anybody looking for their cat? It was brought to me last night after someone was visiting the Madison Albion Wedding and Event Building. He said it jumped in his car and was very hungry when we offered food. If your cat did not come home, give me a call! Anyone in the ALBION area please post so if this is someone’s cat, we can get it home safely. This will be my third cat that was found this week. Two of them had microchips!

As we step into the new year, Mr. Grey's Stray's is stepping back for a much-needed renewal. We're seizing this moment to ensure we're better equipped to fulfill our promised mission. Confronting substantial vet bills and personally bouncing my own account to keep our building afloat needs to be addressed. Volunteering 18-20 hours a day has made my emotions frazzled, reminding me that if I am to continue, things need to change. The recent loss of two new sweet cats has been heart-wrenching for me. Spending thousands at the emergency clinic last week trying to save one, with the lack of sleep, has crushed me as I struggle to hold onto the strength to continue. The constant challenges I face daily for these cats can take a huge toll on my emotions. The highs are high, but the lows are devastating . Such a roller coaster of emotions to manage. We welcome newly appointed Susan LoFurno to our board to tackle long-standing mistakes made in years prior is a huge bonus. Our priority will stand to be able to provide exceptional care for our current cats, who rely on us for a second chance. By temporarily closing our doors to new intakes we'll be able to optimize our operations, work more strategically, and create a brighter future for every cat in our care who needs the special attention to move them forwards to a home-adoption. The numerous pleas I just can not continue to answer and step up for at this time.
The derogatory statements on Facebook I personally now can say, has affected me. No one understands running a rescue unless you are one. I am tired. I have given up so much of myself to be the person who takes some of the worse cases and helping many. I have given my all for over 10 years and running this building has been a huge challenge but this is a challenge I will continue, but only with changes!
Please continue to support us by donations, shares and positive thoughts as I revamp and recharge.
Thank you to everyone who has stood by us in their support throughout these five years at 18 East Ave. We have helped so many because of you and will continue because of you.
