Prinz Begins Rehab!
Foster Prinz began rehab 💪 Look at him go!
Remember, Prinz went down with IVDD in September and his owners only gave him four days before bringing him back to the vet to be euthanized. Thankfully the vet knew better and reached out to us for help.
Thanks to our awesome Little Paws Community 🤝, we were able to offer Prinz IVDD Surgery and while he has not yet regained mobility in his hind legs, he's just beginning his rehab of hydrotherapy and acupuncture.

And here is a friendly reminder that what happened to Prinz is not an anomoly. 25% of dachshunds will experience some degree of spinal injury in their lifetime. This can be from a tweak to complete paralysis. Some treatments involve meds and rest, others involve $10,000 surgeries. If you own this breed, now is the time to save for the day when your pup will need it the most.

Prinz loves being outdoors, sniffing and snoffing around the yard. Foster Mama L says Prinz is a fabulous pup and is so loving 🥰.
Medically, Prinz has not shown improvement with the mobility of his back end. It's still early, so keep all your paws crossed! His pain is managed well and he is very smart -- as in trying to lift his xpen with his snoot and trying to move the latch on his crate 😳 😂.
Prinz will keep going through his rehab and we will do our best to see if we can get him walking again 🤞. If you want to sponsor some of his wishlist items, take a peek in the comments.
