🐾💚 Happy Veterinary Technician Week! 💚🐾

This week, we’re celebrating the heart of Merrick Animal Hospital — our incredible Veterinary Technicians: Jada, Monica, and Michelle.

These three women care for every patient as if they were their own. They comfort the nervous ones, gently hold paws through procedures, assist in surgery, monitor recovery, run diagnostics, and give endless love and attention to every animal who walks through our doors.

Their compassion, skill, and dedication shine in everything they do — and we are so proud and grateful to have them as part of our Merrick family. 💕

💗 We’re Walking for a Cause That Hits Close to Home 💗

This year, our team at Merrick is coming together to participate in the Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk. We are walking in honor of our dear friend and long-time co-worker, Brittney, who is currently battling breast cancer with incredible strength and courage.

💗 From Our Work Family To Yours 💗

We want to take a moment to share about our dear colleague and friend, Brittney. Many of you have noticed her absence these past few months—she has been courageously battling breast cancer.

She has given so much of herself to us over the years, and now it’s our turn to surround her with love, encouragement, and strength. We can’t wait for the day she’s back with us, healthy and strong.

As she continues this courageous journey, we ask you to hold her close in your thoughts and prayers. Let’s surround her and her loved ones with all the love, strength, and hope she’s given us over the years

💀💀Mr Skeleton is all dressed and ready for this next heat wave.💀💀

With temperatures soaring this week, it’s more important than ever to keep our pets safe and cool! Here are some quick tips to help your furry family members beat the heat:

🐶 Keep them indoors during peak heat (10am–4pm) – Walks are best early in the morning or later in the evening.

💧 Plenty of fresh, cool water – Make sure their water bowl is always full and shaded. Add ice cubes to keep it extra cool!

🏖️ Provide shade – If your pet must be outside, make sure they have access to plenty of shade and never leave them on hot pavement or asphalt.

🚫 Never leave pets in cars – Even with windows cracked, cars can become deadly in minutes.

🐾 Watch for signs of heatstroke – Heavy panting, drooling, vomiting, or lethargy are red flags. If you notice any of these, get to an emergency vet immediately!

A little extra care goes a long way. Let’s keep our pets cool, comfortable, and safe! ❤️
