It takes a while to move on from the loss of a pet. When it’s one of those rare creatures that bonds close enough to become a heart pet, the loss is devastating. I am blessed that I found my next companion cat within a month of losing my first heart cat. The grief passed as soon as I held him. I am still struggling with the loss of my Guinea pig, Sunny. And she passed away at the end of January this year. I was just reminded recently that the loss is still a fresh wound within me.
