Magnolia Trace Farm (MTF) is a small, family owned and operated farm located in the small town of Brookhaven, Mississippi. Now operating on approximately 370 acres (150 owned, 220 leased) - the farm has grown significantly since their launch in August of 2009. The farm is most known for it's registered herd of
Belted Galloway cattle, a unique heritage breed best known for their "Oreo Cookie" appearance. A traditional scottish heritage beef breed known for it's hardiness and easy keeping charateristics. Magnolia Trace Farm raises these cattle primarily for breeding stock, as well as small amount of locally raised beef. The farm is very active in the Belted Galloway community, showing cattle across the country from Mississippi to Kentucky and even Maine. Tripp strive to raise and present the highest quality of Belted Galloway breeding stock and try to feature a wide range of genetics suitable to any situation. In addition to their herd of Belted Galloway's, the Tripp family also raises a herd of 20 registered Brahman cattle and 25 commercial beef cattle primary use as receiptions for Brahman embryos. Several of the calves in these herds go to local youth as 4H and FFA projects and to be shown at local and state fair competitions. Much of the herd are very successful at all levels on competition. Off of the farm, the Tripp's are very active in their local and state livestock organizations. These organizations include Lincoln County 4-H, Lincoln County Jr. Livestock Assosciation, Mississippi Cattleman's Association, and Mississippi Junior Brahman Assocation.
