SUNDAY smiles:
Jenifer, Staff and Volunteers,
We wanted to send Holiday Greetings and give a quick update and share some pictures of our adopted boy Charlie (previously Cooper). We are nearing two months with this gangly, snuggly, smart, clown of a dog, and he has quickly made himself a part of the family.
Charlie has "sit", "down", "shake", "touch", "wait/stay" already mastered, and is a total pro at fetch. He loves going for walks and prances like a show horse, making it hard not to giggle at his legs and tail all going in different directions. Playing with big brother, especially zoomies tag through the yard is his favorite, although his energy is a little bit higher, so he does have to get told to settle down once in a while. He has gotten taller, pretty sure it was just his legs though, total awkward teenager for sure. He goes with us anytime we go somewhere dog friendly, and will soon join us on our trips to Eugene where he will get to experience the hotel life. He had a blast at dads work Christmas party, he was able to mingle with new people, who were more than happy to share treats to help make friends, Hooray for dog friendly employers! He had his first outing in the hills to help pick out a Christmas tree and we have to say we are more than excited for him to be part of our outdoor adventures.
Charlie is still learning that any human mom and dad introduce him to are friendly. When you are part guardian breed this is your nature and we respect that, but it doesn't mean we aren't going to keep working on it. He also needs to learn his full name is not "Charlie Don't Chase the Cats", a challenge when one of your cats thinks it is a dog and plays with him, totally ruining any previous impulse control, but we will get there.
Charlie wakes up everyday excited, it is contagious and you couldn't ask for anything better.
Thank you for letting us add this silly boy to our family ❤️
