Heartland Veterinary Clinic We are a full service vet clinic serving small animals, equine, and livestock. Our diagnostics include an x-ray machine and portable ultrasound machine.

We perform vaccinations, preventive care, surgery, medical examinations, and dental cleanings. We are a family owned business (husband and wife) with an amazing staff team. We truly care for your pets and will do everything in our power to make and keep them happy and healthy. We also have pet supplies including pet food, shampoo, ear cleaning solution, and more. rses, livestock and small ruminants, with experience in all species. Large animal medicine is performed on the farm. Dr. Jacci will be taking care of your small animals and horses. She previously worked for an equine clinic near Chicago that focused mainly on lameness, but also performed medicine and surgery. She has also had 2 years of experience with all species in Viborg, SD prior to opening Heartland with Dr. Ryan in May of 2013. Dr. Ryan will be taking care of your small animals and livestock. He has had 3 years of experience in all species in Tyndall, SD prior to opening Heartland with Dr. Jacci in May of 2013. We look forward to meeting you and your pets! What is Laser Therapy?

Laser therapy uses specific wavelengths of red light to induce a therapeutic effect in the body. In general, laser therapy is used to reduce pain, reduce inflammation, and increase healing in an area.

The Brookings Regional Humane Society has urgently taken in over 55 cats/kittens and 4 dogs from a single household after the owner's death. Coordinated with the Brookings Community Service Officers, this operation aims to ensure the animals' welfare and future adoption.
Due to the large intake, BRHS has temporarily closed its animal intake services to focus on these rescues.
BRHS is appealing for community support in the form of monetary donations for medical expenses, supplies such as cat litter and wet ALL STAGES cat food, and foster homes for nursing mama cats and kittens.
The community is encouraged to contact BRHS for donations, supplies, or fostering opportunities. Donations can be dropped off at the shelter during open lobby hours.

She worked for 1 year at an equine clinic near Chicago that focused mainly on lameness, but also performed medicine and surgery. She has also had 2 years of experience with all species in Viborg, SD prior to opening Heartland Veterinary Clinic in May of 2013. Dr. Ryan will be taking care of your small animals and livestock. He has had 3 years of experience in all species in Tyndall, SD prior to opening Heartland with his wife, Dr. Jacci.

Our newest addition, Dr. Sarah Muirhead is a 2020 graduate of Iowa State University. She has experience and interests in exotic pet care and small animals.

Our support staff is knowledgeable and skilled in patient care, handling, veterinary medicine, and client education. Our staff is happy to help you with any questions you may have about your pet’s and their health! We look forward to meeting you and your pets!
