What we (as residents) can do to help.
When?
This coming Thursday (9/23/21) at 5:00pm
Where?
Brookdale Park near the Dog Park. When you enter Brookdale Park from June Ave, turn left and drive towards the hockey rinks and baseball fields near the dog park. Bring a lawn chair for yourself.
Why?
Over the past year, there has been a great increase in the number of violent crimes.
On Friday night, we had the third shooting in Brookdale Park within the past 5 weeks (9/17, 9/8, and 8/15). One incident involved an individual being chased, assaulted, and robbed (8/15). During the summer, there were at least three incidents of shots fired near the water tower, too (9/29, 6/12, and unofficially 5/14).
Come to learn what is being done and what we, as neighbors, can do to help. There will be discussions about possible changes to Brookdale Park, too.
