Health officials warn against feeding pets raw diets after bird flu virus detected in food, cats sickened. Consumption of raw milk and raw meat products should be avoided, and the products should not be fed to pets. Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) has now been found in a Jackson County flock.

Another brand of raw pet food has been found to contain bird flu and has made at least five house cats presumably sick with the virus, health officials say.
