Hi there, friends! My name is Thor, and I’m a big, lovable shepherd mix with a heart as big as my paws. My dad who is living with cancer is moving to Australia to be with my human sister, and while I’m happy for them, I can’t make the journey. So, this Christmas, I’m wishing for a miracle—a Forever Guardian who will love me as much as I’ll love them.

I promise to be the best boy ever: loyal, loving, and always ready for a good cuddle or an adventure. If you love shepherds (or just big dogs with even bigger hearts), I just know we’re meant to be. I’ll keep you warm on chilly nights and make you laugh every single day.

Planning a low-key holiday and looking for a way to give back? Give one of our shelter pets a break this Thanksgiving by hosting a foster! This is a wonderful opportunity to give a pet the comfort of a home for the holiday week—and who knows, you might just fall in love, or help them find their future family!

To become a Thanksgiving Foster, please visit https://form.jotform.com/222975854124058 to submit an application. Paper applications are also available at the shelter. Then visit the shelter on Friday, November 22, or Saturday, November 23, to be matched with a pet and bring them home. Pets will return to the shelter on Saturday, November 30—unless, of course, you decide to make them a permanent part of your family!

In past years, this program has led to many happy “foster fails,” and the insights shared by the foster families have helped make ideal matches for pets who return to the shelter for adoption. Whether you’re ready to adopt or just want to offer some holiday cheer, hosting a pet for Thanksgiving makes a meaningful difference in their lives!

The joyous holiday season kicks off with Halloween, bringing numerous celebrations, quality time with loved ones, and changing weather patterns cold and rain. However, amidst the festivities, we mustn't forget those in need. As temperatures drop and rain falls, donations unfortunately dwindle. Meanwhile, homeless animals endure the harsh conditions. Your support is crucial to our mission. We urgently require fosters, and if that's not possible, your donation would be invaluable. This week, we're preparing five kittens for spay surgery, which includes vaccinations, microchipping, and combo testing at $130 per kitten. Any amount will help us reach our goal of $650.
With your help, they'll soon find a warm safe place with nourishing food at the Cat Haven Lounge where they will be available for adoption.

UPDATE AFTER VET VISIT:

My friend just got back from the vet. She had a thorough examination for him. He is perfectly healthy, three years old, approximate. Not a puppy after all. lol! Weighs 11 pounds. And has been taken care of. He is not neutered. However, there is no chip. Let me know if you find out anything thank you.🙏

If we cannot find a new home for this pup, it will be taken to a shelter. We all know what may happen if it is taken to a shelter.
