That right there was a Poppa Hall special. We’d load up on the golf cart and he knew just what tree to go to, a couple rows over in the orange grove. He would break out that old yellow handled case knife with the broke blade and cut a couple up. Some of the best conversations sitting in the middle of that orange grove. Sure do miss the heck out of him… give anything for a ride on the golf cart bouncing through the orange grove.

Three new resident joined the chaos yesterday.
We have “ZzzZzz” a 4 month old broken orange tort doe, “Dusty” a Sr tort doe and “Ollie” a blue tort buck! After letting them settle in last night the girls spent some time brushing, giving treats and saying hello!

Cattle clinic #3 this past week! Weighed in at 808, he’s gaining right on target. Great clipping & fitting discussion by M Cattle Clipping & Fitting, can’t wait for Black Magic’s clipping appointment later this month! Rayanne is working hard getting him ready for a show in January! We also discovered that he likes going on trailer rides. I’ve never had a steer that jumped up in the trailer as easy as he does!

Cattle Clinic #2 hosted by the Hernando County Cattlewomen at Head N Heel Ranch. Overcame some attitude problems and some rolling in the dirt. But weighed in and got the hooves trimmed. So proud of this kid for her hard work. I forget sometimes that she just turned 8 years old!

The girls chickens arrived today! It’s been rainy and dreary so we are going to let them chill out and get used to everything. Of course the girls have already named them… so meet the newbies!

Moving some coops around, upgrading chicks and the girls pullet projects from brooder to bigger pens.
I think we have discovered a new breed of chicks… these get bigger and sassier everyday and that feed bill 😳

Cochins are my favorite breed of chickens! They are so sweet and docile, perfect for my littlest 4-h’er. This Blue Calico pair will start her breeding program and the buff pair will occupy her show pens for the next Florida Agriculture and Wildlife Expo on March 2024.
These cuties will be here Tuesday from D&D Homestead in Kentucky!
