Happy 10th week to Axel, Cooper and Lovar. While they are not separated, they will always be brothers. They are all sweet and loving and destined to be great dogs as they grow up. The last picture I have with all 3 of them. Maybe I will get another in the fall.

Happy 9th week for the puppies. Lovar and Cooper are in their forever homes but they are only 1/4 mile apart and in the same street. Yesterday Cooper and Lovar had a play date and they had some fun rough housing and I received a video as I am now in Michigan with Axel and his mama Sadie. Along the way, they also were rough housing as Axel was able to experience non Florida grass for the first time. So soft!

Today, Cooper moved down the street a little ways to his forever home with Phyllis and Doug Heisey. Cooper is joining a family that has another Sadie. No doubt that Cooper is going to add lots of playfulness and joy into an already remarkable home. Congratulations Phyllis, Doug, Sadie and Cooper! I can’t wait to see Cooper’s next adventure.

Today Lovar made the long journey (50 feet) to his forever home with Paula Cheney. Lovar is already getting acclimated to his new home, playing with toys and will likely be ready for a nap once he has his lunch. It’s been an exciting day for all the pups as they got their first car rides and also received their first round of puppy vaccines. They did great with the car ride and also with the vet. They are like their mama, for sure. Congratulations to Paula and Lovar.

The puppies are now 8 weeks old. It’s hard to believe that’s it’s only 8 weeks ago, on the afternoon of Feb 23, 2024, that these adorable pups entered the world. Sadie has been a great mama and each boy has developed his own personality. Lovar is the biggest but he is also the most timid in unknown situations and the quickest to seek out his mom is he hears a loud noise. Cooper is the smallest (by 2 ounces) but also the most adventurous. Axel is the gentlest of the 3 and he seems to be the peacemaker when Cooper and Lovar might be wrestling a little too aggressively. They love each other so much and it’s nice to know that they will get the chance to spend time together even after they go to their forever homes. Sadie is going to miss taking care of them but she is probably also going to welcome the break. She will likely get to spend an extended time with Axel which is very nice since she loves to play with him. Lovar reached 8 pounds today and Axel and Cooper are shy of 7 pounds. They are a little bigger than the mama at this stage but they also are part of a litter of 3 rather than 7. Time will tell what their adult weight will be, but no matter what it is, they will be terrific dogs and I can’t wait to see the next stages of their lives. Next week Lovar will join Paula and Cooper will join Phyllis, Doug and their Sadie as they begin their new adventures. Axel will also have an adventure as he will join me and Sadie as we head to Michigan. He will get to enjoy some cooler weather and meet lots of new people!

Good morning everyone. The puppies are 1/2 way through their 8th week. Mama has decided they get enough food from their kibble and they should stop nursing. They are starting to get the message but they really would like to have some milk some times. They often gang up on Sadie to see who can attach. She's still quicker than them but not by much! She is however much stronger than them and when they do not listen she makes sure they are settled down. She's a very good mama, that's for sure. As for their development, they are doing and excellent job on the steps and should be ready for any stairs they encounter in the future. This week, will begin a little bit of lead (leash) training but that will take more time than I have with them. They are doing very well at listening and minding when they are outside. They are learning to come when called and stay fairly close to me at all time. Of course, like all pups, they can get distracted quite easily. I stray leaf or a stick grab their attention. As for potty training, they are doing so well. They know where to go and when kept on a schedule they do exceptionally well at doing their business in the backyard. I'm very proud of them as they have learned so quickly. They seem to have their mama's intellect and also her athleticism. They are even starting to jump. I'm not sure if they will ever have the ability to jump like Sadie, but they just might and that means they may be jumping over couches within 6 months like a good Bernedoodle You know, you have to sometimes take shortcuts in order to cuddle up next to your human!

The puppies are eating all their puppy food and are quite satisfied, but they still want to nurse when they get the chance. Mama has other ideas and is still much quicker than them. They do attach at times but not for very long. They are persistent.

Today marks 7 weeks for the puppies and boy was this a big week. Of course, Lovar (formerly Chase) has found his forever home with my wonderful next door neighbor Paula. Also, this week, the boys have been working very hard on the potty training and they are going out in the grass a great majority of the time. Last night wasn't as good as the previous nights but I also altered their eating schedule somewhat and fed them later. That might have been an awful idea, LOL. Lastly, they have all taken a big jump in weight this week. Axel and Cooper are now an ounce or two shy of 6 pounds and Lovar is now 7 pounds. That's quite a jump in one week as it is nearly one pound in one week. I think the fact that they are now doing very well in eating their puppy food and Sadie is actively working on weaning them completely, made a big difference in their weight gain. Of course, we do not want them to get too plump, so, they will be running more often the next week to burn off some of those extra calories. BTW, they all seem to have inherited Sadie's athletic genes. They all run quickly for their size and are already learning to jump. Will they be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, maybe not. More pictures of the little darlings later today.

These little guys continue their development. They love to play with each other and are getting used to playing with Sadie rather than just attaching to her. They are too cute!

Chase has found his forever home and he’s moving just next door to Paula’s house. He’s very excited to join Paula who will most certainly spoil the little guy. Paula has given him a beautiful name. A combination of Love and (Shining) Star. His name is now Lovar.

Getting a picture of all 3 of the pups can be a challenge now. They move very quickly and they are either playing, eating or sleeping (in a big ball). They are now eating their kibble quite well and they are learning to go potty outside. Chase is ahead of his brother since he goes potty as soon as he hits the grass. Axel and Cooper are not far behind. It seems to me like they will be easy to house train like their mama was. Time will tell but there are positive signs. They are growing quickly and are super cute! They love to play with their mama on the patio as they get plenty of running room when they have the run of the whole area. The pups are also going out into the yard now to play a couple times a day. Mama stays inside when that happens as it can get pretty chaotic.

Each puppy got a chance to play with mama alone. Of course the two that were not playing had to whine to let mama know they should be next! Videos in the comments.

Friday morning is the time each week to weigh the pups. Chase's growth has slowed down a bit this week allowing Axel and Cooper to close the gap just a little. Both Axel and Cooper are now over 5 pounds with Cooper now 1 ounce bigger than Axel. Chase is still just shy of 6 pounds. They are all progressing on their skills. Yesterday was their first time in the grass and of course they were all a bit timid. What is this green stuff? They are also working on their navigation of stairs. That's quite a challenge for them as it is hard to keep their center of gravity stable. They are enjoying their kibble but when Sadie gives them the chance to latch on, they certainly do not miss the opportunity. Poor Sadie just wants to play with them sometimes; but, most of the time they just want to nurse a little more, particularly Chase who is the king of nursing!
