Sadie's Mini Bernedoodle Pups

Sadie's pups for rehoming Sadie is a 20 pound mini bernedoodle (F1B) and is expecting a litter on Feb 24, 2024.

The sire is also a mini bernedoodle (F1B) and is just under 20 pounds. We are expecting pups that will reach around the same size when full grown.

Each puppy got a chance to play with mama alone. Of course the two that were not playing had to whine to let mama know they should be next! Videos in the comments.

Friday morning is the time each week to weigh the pups. Chase's growth has slowed down a bit this week allowing Axel and Cooper to close the gap just a little. Both Axel and Cooper are now over 5 pounds with Cooper now 1 ounce bigger than Axel. Chase is still just shy of 6 pounds. They are all progressing on their skills. Yesterday was their first time in the grass and of course they were all a bit timid. What is this green stuff? They are also working on their navigation of stairs. That's quite a challenge for them as it is hard to keep their center of gravity stable. They are enjoying their kibble but when Sadie gives them the chance to latch on, they certainly do not miss the opportunity. Poor Sadie just wants to play with them sometimes; but, most of the time they just want to nurse a little more, particularly Chase who is the king of nursing!

I’ve been a little negligent on posting about these amazing puppies and their equally amazing mama. All are doing very well. The pups are continuing to work on eating rather than nursing. Chase is a little behind Cooper and Axel. Chase really loves his milk. This week they have had multiple visitors which is great for socilization. Their coordination continues to improve but that is being some increased rough play which at times crosses the line. Mama usually sets them straight if they get out of hand. We are now working on going up and down stairs so they will be prepared when they go to their forever home. It’s a challenge but one that they are eagerly attacking. They are growing so quickly. They are all able to look out of the opening in their whelping box. It might be time soon to add the other portion of the gate. What do you think?

The pups are starting to each solid food fairly well. There is even a minimal amount of standing in their food as they eat. Cooper definitely likes this food more than Chase and Axel do. Chase would opt for Sadie to feed him!

Today, the boys tried food for the first time. Axel ate his food right away, but Chase and Cooper really just wanted to play in the food. Sadie is getting to the point of not feeding them as much because it’s that time that they are getting very sharp teeth. They are getting feed but weaning has definitely begun. Sadie is probably very happy there are only 3 of those ruffians.

The puppies are now learning to handle obstacles including tunnels (for closed spaces) and uneven objects. After playing and resting, they took some pictures. They love the attention.

Happy Birthday (4 weeks) to Axel, Cooper and Chase. Chase is now at 4.5 pounds. He's leading the pack but Axel and Cooper are keeping pace as they are closing in on 4 pounds themselves. They are starting to really develop their personalities. Cooper definitely likes to cuddle and is not one to over eat. He gets his share and then is content to stop and lay down and enjoy the feeling of a full stomach. On the other end is Chase, who can't seem to get enough. Axel is right in between. They are each getting their voices which is often a mixture of their puppy whining and then suddenly a puppy bark. Often they startle either themselves or their brothers with their bark. It's amusing. They still love to lay on top of one another but now they spend more time playing in between naps. They certainly bring a smile to your face watching them as they get more and more coordination. This week, we will introduce food into their diet. That should be fun because it's also going to be quite messy as they learn to eat. I'm sure Sadie will help me keep them clean.

Can you believe that the pups will be 4 weeks tomorrow. They are all doing well. They are now starting to run and play a little harder with each other. Of course, when they play and eat, they also get tired and often they look just like this.

The pups are certainly awake and playing more frequently now. Cooper has advanced on his walking to where he's now adding in a little hop. So cute. Chase has reached 4 pounds which is much quicker than his mom reached 4 pounds. Although you cannot be certain yet, I think he'll be closer to 30 pounds. He's like Sadie's brothers were in size compared to Sadie. Cooper and Axel are smaller and I think they will be closer to Sadie's size. As far as development, they are playing much more frequently. They are also cutting more of their teeth in which means that food is just around the corner for them. They will get some softened puppy food introduced at the end of this week when they will be 4 weeks old.

Sadie’s and her puppies received a visit from Aunts Kim and Debbie today. They had a great time playing as they are getting more socilization. We have a going home name for Cooper (initially named Barrett) and I will be using his new name going forward. It really fits his personality and it’s a great choice by Phyllis and Doug. The puppies are spending some more time in their recently enlarged patio enclosure. Thank you Kim and Tad for providing the additional panels.

Well, we have news. Barrett (his name will most likely change) has found his forever home. He will be joining Phyllis, Doug and Sadie (mini golden doodle); so, my Sadie will get to see one of her pups grow up. How exciting. Chase and Axel are awaiting to find their forever homes.

Today, they have all started to cut their first puppy teeth. Their poor
little mouths must be sore. This will start the next phase for them where food isn’t too long in the future and mama will start to ween them as they have another food source and nursing becomes somewhat painful with those very sharp puppy teeth.

Also, as we start to see more of their eyes, it appears that Axel may have blue eyes. They should be quite striking in the next couple of weeks.

The puppies are 3 weeks old today. I have started to introduce them to their p*e pad so they can start to learn there is a place to do their business. Obviously, this is a learning process, needless to say. They seem to be p*eing machines at the moment. Eat, Sleep, Wake up and let it flow!!!! Now that I am checking their weights once a week, rather than daily, we get to see some large jumps, week over week. In the past week, they have average an increase of around 30%. Chase leads the pack at 55 ounces or just under 3.5 pounds. Axel is at 48 ounces or 3 pounds and Barrett is just shy of 3 pounds at 45 ounces. They are growing and developing nicely. Mama is certainly doing an outstanding job. They are all working on their walking and each day they look less like drunken sailors and more like miniature Sadie's moving around in their box. I have also introduced their play area on the screened in patio for them to enjoy. Yesterday was their first time out there exploring and they seemed to enjoy the new sensations. This week, we will focus on getting them better at walking and by the end of the week we will begin the weening process by introducing a mush of puppy food, milk and water. That should be all sorts of messy! Queue the baby wipes. They are so cute and adorable and are starting to develop individual personalities. Sadie is so proud of them.

The pups continue in their journey. They are now all taking multiple steps but they also like to sleep a lot. Barrett and Axel, both like to sleep like their mom.

The puppies are becoming active with spurts of attempting to walk and of course they are becoming more cuddly when you pick them up and play with them. They are still growing and Chase remains the biggest of the 3. They are starting to show their individual personalities. It will be fun over the next couple of weeks to watch them get their legs underneath them and be able to start playing with each other. Right now they are starting to nudge each other but no real playing. That will come soon. Most of their time is spent sleeping (and growing) and then eating. Sadie does an excellent job of taking care of them and then leaves them be so that they can sleep. When she goes in their box, it's for cleaning and eating and then she leaves them so they can rest and continue to develop. They are starting to get visitors which will help them with their socialization. Once they can walk, I'll begin with their exercises to improve their coordination and of course potty training. Let the fun begin.

The pups are getting bigger and stronger and starting to walk around in a very wobbly manner. It will be time for a video later today as Kim, Debbie and Donna are coming for a visit.
