Do Over Dogs

Do Over Dogs Do Over Dogs is a 501(c)(3) Colorado foster-based organization that rescues at-risk shelter dogs.

Do Over Dogs is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that gives at-risk shelter dogs a second chance at life. As a rescue, our main priority is to save dogs and puppies from 'death row' and eventually place them in forever homes. These sweet pups come from awful backgrounds-full of abuse, neglect and sadness. Our goal is to rehabilitate these animals, and place them into homes that allow them to feel like a family member rather than a yard ornament or prisoner.

Oh my goodness! Check these cuties out💞

Two proud girls posing for our staff member, Morgan. Mavis and Brooke have been here for months. They both came in very pregnant and delivered their puppies all of which have found homes months ago. They are a bonded pair. They do well walking on a leash and go out every day with our volunteers and get to play together out in our play yard. They’re really well behaved dogs. Yes, we know it’s a big deal to ask someone to adopt two large dogs, but here we are. It is OK if you can’t adopt them. We get it. Can you please share them? It is so sad to see them waiting. We know there is a home out there who will be perfect for these two beauties.

Well Fritz came home with a negative report from the Vet. today. He is in stage 2 kidney failure. He could live another year at this stage but we do consider him a hospice dog now for sure. He is still in need of a home where he can get more attention than he gets here. He gets canned food twice a day and uses the pet door. If his final chapter is spent here we will make the best of it. Poor guy,🥹

🌟 💫 Happy New Year! 💫 🌟

As 2025 is approaching, we look back at some of the precious lives we rescued this year. We are forever grateful for our fosters, adopters, trainers, rescue partners, volunteers, team members, and the community that has supported us through fundraising, the seemingly impossible, the triumphs and the tragedies. We couldn’t save them without you🐾

🚨 REUNITED!!!

Charlie (FKA Peter) arrived yesterday from Texas and unfortunately has escaped his foster's yard with no harness or collar/tags on.
Charlie is a 15lb, athletic Poodle mix who is very scared of people but loves other dogs.

Last seen: Crater Lake Lane, Lafayette, CO

If you see him:

🚫 DO NOT try to catch or approach him! He is extremely scared and will likely run.
✅ Instead, please TEXT HOPE at 303-656-5781 immediately with the location and time of the sighting.

We are desperate to bring Charlie back to our rescue safely and are actively searching. Please share this post widely to help us bring Charlie to safety!

UPDATE — he was spotted in an open space in Lafayette. We set up a trap in the open space and are hoping it will catch him 🤞🏼

Sam Simon, co-creator of The Simpsons, spent his final years giving away his $100 million fortune to animal welfare and other causes:

Sam Simon, the co-creator of The Simpsons, left behind not just a groundbreaking television legacy but also one of extraordinary generosity.

Diagnosed with terminal colorectal cancer in late 2012, Simon chose to dedicate his final years to giving away his $100 million fortune, directing most of it toward animal welfare and homelessness initiatives. "I have more money than I'm interested in spending," he explained, adding, "And I enjoy this."

However, Simon, a passionate animal rights activist, had already been making an impact long before his diagnosis.

In 2002, he self-funded The Sam Simon Foundation, a multimillion-dollar endeavor that provides free veterinary surgeries for cats and dogs via a mobile clinic and rescues shelter dogs, retraining them to help people in need.

Despite being given just months to live, chemotherapy extended his life, allowing him to continue his philanthropy. Sam Simon passed away on March 8, 2015, at the age of 59.

Coconut was adopted!!!! ❤️🩷❤️

This little sweetheart finally found the furever family of her dreams! Coconut was lucky to land in an incredibly patient, committed and loving foster home, as she waited months to even have a meet and greet…. Fortunately true to the saying, good things come to those who wait!🌟💞

Coconut has not only very loving, adventurous, and patient parents, she also has amazing animal siblings including a doggy brother she can’t get enough of 💓We are so grateful for adopters that are willing to take a chance and take their time with our shy pups, watching them blossom and bond is so rewarding! Little Missy truly hit the jackpot, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Happy tails Coconut! 🥥
