Zoosiana is where the good times ROAR! A 45-acre zoological park delivering wild family fun. Zoosiana has been a staple for family fun in Acadiana for 30 years!

Stretching across 42 acres, Zoosiana offers the spirit of adventure right here at home. Stroll along the bamboo-shaded pathways to see and learn about amazing animals like giraffes, lions, birds, reptiles, tigers, monkeys, and of course, alligators! Fun for the whole family, explore more from the Safari Express Train, go wild on the Jungle Lodge Playground, and find new treasures at the Gem Mine.

Open 9 am to 5 pm daily, weather permitting. Conveniently located at the intersection of Highway 90 and Ambassador Caffery Parkway in Broussard, Louisiana. For more than 30 years, the communities throughout the Acadiana and southwest Louisiana areas have cherished and grown with the zoo. From humble beginnings as a small menagerie in the early 1990s to today’s accredited zoological park, Zoosiana – Zoo of Acadiana continues to proudly connect guests to the natural world through a strong commitment to education, conservation, and up-close-and-personal, pure excitement. Zoosiana employs about 25 people and provides daily care to all of its animals. The numerous education programs demonstrate the importance of the world’s animals and show that everyone can do a small part to help make the world a better place that will continue to include animals.

Eurasian Eagle-owls are among the world's largest owls. They combine fast and powerful flights with shallow wing beats and long, fast glides. They also soar on updrafts, displaying a type of flight similar to that of soaring hawks like the Red-tailed Hawk.

🐒 Fun fact: Ring-tailed lemurs spend more time on the ground than other lemur species! You can often find them "sun worshiping," a behavior where lemurs sit upright with their arms and legs stretched out to the sides, exposing their bellies to the sun. This position is similar to a yoga pose and helps lemurs warm up in the morning before they start foraging for food.

Did you know? Alligators enter a state of brumation during winter, becoming dormant to conserve energy as temperatures drop below 70 degrees. You can still see our gators occasionally basking in the sun during spells of warm weather.🐊

Munch munch! Did you know that a giraffe’s tongue can be up to 20 inches in length? Their long neck helps them to reach high in the sky for leaves, and their long tongue helps to avoid scratching their face on thorny branches.
