Position: Crematory Operator/ Route Driver
Qualified candidates must be compassionate, respectful, and comfortable working with cremation equipment and customers who may be grieving the loss of his or her pet. The Crematory Operator/ Route Driver is responsible for all aspects of the cremation process, including, but not limited to operating and maintaining the crematory equipment/ cleaning the crematorium, facilitating pick ups from veterinary clinics, home removals during and after business hours, etc. All while ensuring company standard practices and procedures as well as all safety protocols are followed.
The position is a full-time, hourly position with the opportunity for overtime.
Responsibilities and Duties:
-Accepting pets from clients, verifying identification details, and documenting information accurately
-Properly handling and preparing pets for cremation, ensuring accurate identification of each pet throughout the entire cremation process
-Provide compassionate support and guidance to pet owners regarding cremation options, pricing, and memorial products
-Maintain and operate all aspects of the crematorium, including maintaining a clean/ organized work environment
- Thorough record keeping for a smooth cremation process from beginning to end
-Follow provided company standard practices, procedures, and protocols
-Capturing clay paw ornaments, nose prints, paw prints, fur clippings and special request from pets
-Facilitate pickups and transport from clinics and residents when needed (company vehicle to be used)
-Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills:
-Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and respect towards grieving pet owners
-Self-motivated with excellent time management
-Detail-oriented
- Focus on completing assigned tasks in a competent and thorough manner
-All documentation/paperwork must be accurate, organized, and legible
-Required high level of integrity, ethics, and compassion for care of deceased pets and their owners
-Must be familiar with basic technological equipment
-Ability to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
-Must be a team player with strong verbal, written, and communication skills
-High School Diploma or equivalent
-Ability to lift approximately 100 lbs., and be able to bend, twist as needed throughout shift
-Must have valid Louisiana driverβs license
-Must be insurable
-Ability to understand written and spoken English
