It’s rare when we finally have a chance to work on a personal project! Finally after purchasing this incredible set of antlers from C&L Sports back in 2020 we finally brought this incredible deer back to life! We just fell in love with the antlers on the ancient mount and knew we had to have him! Old mounts are fun to take apart as they used all kinds of materials to build up the form. Upon taking apart the old mount we discovered a Detroit Times newspaper used to stuff the head, it was dated for June of 1959. Presumably we’re guessing perhaps this is a Michigan whitetail shot the season before in 1958! It took work and lots of trips to antique stores but we found a metal tag to match the year! Unfortunately we will never know where this perfect symmetrical 12pt was harvested, and by whom, but we are happy to be the ones to bring this monarch back to life! Which shows you can remount grandpas mounts to make them look fresh again!
