These last few days I attended The World Taxidermy & Fish Carving Championships® in Coralville, Iowa. It was really great to hang out with my friends Chuck Testa and Matt Dockstader again. They drove all the way from California to be there for it. I feel very honored to have had the opportunity to meet so many influential people in the industry. I didn’t take very many pics of the event, but I did post a live video the other night if anyone hasn’t seen it yet. Go check it out! My mind is blown away by the amount of talent in that building.

The Indiana whitetail deer season is really getting HOT! Only 4 more days until the Indiana whitetail deer firearm season opener.

Help needed!
Close to Nature Taxidermy located in Brownsburg is looking for a few people to help out this upcoming deer season. I’m needing reliable people that are interested in being on call to come in and help cape out deer for shoulder mounts. I am willing to train if needed. Serious inquiries only. Close to Nature School of Taxidermy is a place for students to receive a well rounded education of taxidermy techniques so that students can walk out of the class feeling comfortable with beginning a taxidermy business or as a hobby. My goal is to allow my students the opportunity to have a strong foundation of understanding the anatomy of the animal to create the most life-like mounts. I am a life-long learner and continue to expand my knowledge of the current techniques mixed with the old techniques. Close to Nature School of Taxidermy will provide you with the opportunities to go beyond the basics that other schools may not provide such as: repairs, mount cleaning, keep your tools options, and ongoing support after the completion of the class. I will be a mentor to you once you leave the classroom and begin working on taxidermy from your home…my goal is to continue being a source of education and support.
