****Update : We have raised $820 of the $3,000 match! We have just over 24 hours to raise the remaining $2,180! Please share and let’s get this done for the rescue babies!***DOUBLE DONATIONS UNTIL SUNDAY AT MIDNIGHT! This Christmas, give the best gift of all to rescue pets ❤️ Five precious anonymous donors have teamed up to match funds up to $3,000 until this Sunday at midnight - regardless of the size of the donation. Your $5 becomes $10! Your $20 becomes $40! And your $100 becomes $200! They decided to come together to do this because our vet bill right now is hovering at just under $2,500 - and we still have more pets that have come in that need to be seen 😬 And of course, calls coming in daily for more pets in need. One that that never stops in rescue - the need for vet care. And unfortunately, many of the pets we intake come in with major medical needs. So let’s get this vet bill paid down and make sure we are ready for the next wave of Christmas intake arrivals!

Winona went on a “Doggy Day Out” and had the absolute best time! This sweet girl is three years old and is the sweetest! She is a bulldog/lab mix and weighs about 45 lbs. Winona is a rescue center favorite, who loves to be around people and enjoys the company of her doggy friends. Winona is a laid back girl who would like to go for peaceful walks around the neighborhood, rides to Starbucks, or would enjoy just hanging out and watching Netflix. She is crate trained and does well on leash. Winona is good with children and other dogs - but has not been tested with cats. We can do this if needed. Winona is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, Heartworm negative, and microchipped. Apply to adopt at https://troyanimalrescueproject.org/adopt/

Saturday, Frank completed the entire Rockin Around Rucker 5k with his foster family at Ft Rucker! He had the most fun meeting all the new people and doggy friends ❤️ Sweet Frank is still available for adoption - and we can’t believe this boy hasn’t found his forever family yet! Frank is 3 years old and is a shepherd mix. He is an energetic boy who would love an active family. Although when he isnt going for walks or playing with doggy friends, he is quite content to just lounge on the couch and watch Netflix. Frank is currently in a foster home with young children and other dogs, which he does great with. He is house and crate trained. Frank also does well on leash and loves car rides. He is a boy that wouldn’t mind going places with his family like trips to the park or on vacation. He is a social butterfly who doesnt meet a stranger. Frank is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, Heartworm negative and microchipped. Apply to adopt him at https://troyanimalrescueproject.org/adopt/

Yesterday, we took in over a dozen pets to get them out of the cold! This includes this sweet boy who wandered up to an elderly man’s home. He didn’t have any other way to contain him, so he put him on a lead to keep him safe from being hit by a car. Unfortunately, with last nights temperatures dipping into the 20s and wind chills into the teens, this boy would have suffered greatly without anywhere to get out of the cold or wind. He was our last pickup yesterday at almost 9 pm. We started yesterday morning. There were so many in need that were in desperate situations. By the time we got to this boy, we had ran out of kennels so he spent the night in our cat supply shed - but he was out of the weather. We did not need to take on this many pets - but last nights temperatures with extreme wind chills would have taken lives. Our vet bills are already through the roof and now we have even more pets to send in this week. Please consider helping with a donation to help care for our new winter weather intakes.

Today, we focused our efforts on “priority” pets- pulling in pets that were most in danger with wind chills tonight dropping into the lower teens in our area. We pulled in strays, dogs off dirt roads, puppies, etc.

We were alerted to this litter of puppies under a house and knew that we needed to get them into somewhere warm and safe before the temperatures dropped. We were notified of four. When our young volunteer Hunter was able to crawl under the house, he discovered TEN! He was able to reach all the puppies and they are now safely out of the weather, vaccinated, and dewormed. Hunter is receiving a Chick-fil-a gift card for his efforts, paw print signed by the puppies who put their paws together to get him something special for saving their lives ❤️

Hoarding House Update : We haven’t been doing as many updates because there really hasn’t been that much to update everyone on. Everything pretty much stays consistent with feedings and trying to trap the remaining members of the dogs left. Last night, we went out from 8 pm until almost midnight and were able to catch a pregnant female we have been after and a male dog that had just reappeared that had been missing from the property since August. We are not sure if he had taken up with a neighbor or has been living in the hundreds of acres of woods surrounding the property - as this is a very rural area and these dogs are not contained. The female is heavily pregnant and is expected to birth puppies within the next week. As of these two being trapped, we have a tricolor female, a black male, and a senior black and tan male remaining on the property. As always, your continued support is appreciated as we will need to get these two into our vet on Monday and as we continue to feed and care for the three left on property. We are not a huge organization with millions in funding - but we made a commitment and we are going to stand by that regardless of man hours or the funding involved. We never started this to come in for the weekend, do a huge song and dance, then pull out. We knew we were in it for the long haul when we saw the conditions. And we appreciate all of you being in it with us for the long haul. These dogs all deserve their happy ever afters.

Does everyone remember Clifford, the stray with the horrible embedded collar and huge ticks?! Well, our guy is now healed, happy, and ready for his forever home! All that’s left of his previous life is a barely noticeable scar on his neck where our vet patched him up. And Clifford is seriously the best dog! He is a BIG BOY! When he started eating and gaining, he filled out to a beautiful beefy 80 solid pounds! And he is strong and fit! He loves to run, play tug and has lots of energy. He would love someone who wants a companion that could keep up with them on runs or high energy play. Clifford does amazing with female dogs - but he prefers to be the only male dog in the home. He has no food or toy aggression and plays well with his female companions. Clifford also does AMAZING with cats 🤣 He doesnt chase or bother them at all. Clifford is a big boy who doesn’t quite know his size so we recommend him to homes with older children, as he might knock over smaller children without knowing he might hurt them. Clifford is just like the big goofy dog from the story books - He is sweet, funny, and has a SMILE FOR MILES. Let’s find this guy a wonderful home!
