Tall and Short aunties will be in Florida from February 19th-26th!

Space is extremely limited for care that week, so please get any requests in asap (requests close on 2/15)

We will miss our furry and four legged friends so much, but are looking forward to some much needed family time that week 🥰

ITS CARDI P. BEANS BIRTHDAY! This perfect little angel baby is one year old and she has been our little missing puzzle piece. She loves all her friends and family and is definitely in the running for happiest pup, this little Puerto Rican baddie is living her best life 🥰🖤 shout-out always to for knowing we needed her 😘

The hardest part of this job by far is the inevitability of knowing that our furry friends won’t outlive us. Lucky was a special girl and with us from the start and her name rings true about how we felt about having her in our lives. Rest easy sweet girl 🖤 we hope you’re killing all those pesky moles over the rainbow bridge

🚨 HSWC IS FULL - ADOPTERS AND FOSTERS NEEDED 🚨

As of this morning, we have 237 animals in the shelter and 382 in foster care. Animals are being brought in as "strays" and not reclaimed. For every animal that gets adopted, approximately 2 more are brought in. From Sunday through Thursday this week, 60 new animals came to HSWC. We know you've heard us say this several times already this year, but we need our community to step up!

If you are able to adopt, now is the time to do so! Adoption fees on all dogs and cats, regardless of age, are waived through Saturday, November 9th. All come spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped! Live in Washington County? Talk to our Adoptions staff about a foster-to-adopt option! Interested in adopting a kitten? They do best in pairs. Adopt two; pay nothing! Our standard adoption screening process still applies.

Looking for a less permanent option? Sign up to foster! We are currently in our second round of kitten season for the year and can definitely use kitten fosters. We are also seeking fosters for dogs of all ages and sizes as well! Visit hswcmd.org/foster-app and follow the steps to get started! We provide everything you'll need, including vet care. Fostering frees up kennel space in the shelter! Fosters must live within an hour's drive of the shelter.

Lastly, if your animal is at the shelter, PLEASE come pick them up! Let us microchip them, and in exchange, we will waive your pick-up fee!

The overpopulation of animals in the shelter is a community problem and requires a community solution. Please step up and do what you can to help these animals!

The Aunties are taking a much needed vacation next week!!

We will do our best to accommodate scheduling requests by this Friday the 9th; any new requests after Friday will be answered when we return on Monday, November 18th!

As a reminder: Auntie Sabrina will be taking over daycare and boarding clients at our home while we our gone! We will also have Auntie Lew, Auntie Mady, and Auntie Kelly helping with walks, drop-ins and overnights!

We can’t wait to see our all of our besties when we get back; it’s going to be so hard to leave everyone 😭♥️
