Did you know July is Heatstroke Awareness Month? Just like us, pets can overheat fast—especially outside on walks or in parked cars.

- Watch for signs like heavy panting, drooling, or lethargy🐾
- Never leave pets alone in the vehicle 🐾
- Always provide shade & water if outside. On extremely hot days, opt for low-key indoor activities 🐾

Here are a few tips to help prepare your furry friends to have a safe & stress free weekend:

- Ensure your pets are indoors and that the environment is escape-proof
- Make sure they have ID tags with your name and phone number
- Create a calm space using a covered crate or comfortable room. Add familiar blankets and play soft white noise or music
- Utilize prescription medications for fear, stress, and anxiety
- Offer toys and treats they can enjoy such as Kongs

With temperatures rising, make sure to keep your pets safe this summer 🌞

- Enjoy a shaded spot and always provide fresh water.

- Walk during early morning/evening hours when it’s cooler. On extremely hot/humid days, opt for indoor activites.

- Test pavement with your hand to ensure it’s not too hot for paws

- Never leave pets in cars, even with windows cracked!!
