Meet Natalie!
Natalie is our in house groomer, here to pamper patients of all shapes and sizes. Natalie does baths, blowouts, shaves, trims, nails, and more! She keeps pets looking and feeling their best by giving them a fantastic spa experience while showing them patience and compassion. Natalie says she enjoys improving a pet’s mood and behavior by making them more comfortable, which can reduce stress and anxiety. 🐾 🛁 🧼 🎀
Natalie has been with Bath-Brunswick Vet for over 4 years. In her free time she spends time with her family: her husband, 2 children, and 4 fur children. She also enjoys dog shows with her award winning Dalmatian, Thunder!
Natalie is kind, hard working, and has great attention to detail. We are so lucky to have her! 🐾

As we gather to celebrate Independence Day with family and friends, let's not forget our furry companions! Here are some tips to keep your pets safe and calm during the festivities:
🎇 Create a Safe Space: Make sure your pets have a quiet, comfortable place to retreat away from the noise.
🐶 Keep Them Indoors: Fireworks can be frightening for pets. Keep them indoors and secure windows and doors.
🐱 Update ID Tags: Ensure your pets' ID tags and microchip information are up to date, just in case they get scared and run off.
🐾 Avoid Fireworks: Never use fireworks around pets. They can cause severe burns and trauma.
🎆 Watch the BBQ: Be mindful of what your pets eat. Certain foods can be harmful to them.

Welcome to the team Dr Quinn!
Dr. Quinn was born and raised in Upstate New York and completed his undergraduate degree in Animal Sciences/Pre-Veterinary Studies at The University of Vermont. He then went on to obtain his Veterinary Degree in 2016 from Ross University on the beautiful island of St. Kitts.
His veterinary interests include ultrasonography, surgery, and general practice. He enjoys the variety of cases and patients that can be seen on any given day and not really knowing what you may see next.
When not at work, he enjoys spending time outdoors; kayaking, hiking, fishing, camping, pottery, biking, and reading. He has a wife, 2 dogs, 2 cats, a snake, and a large freshwater aquarium.
We are in the process of updating our hospital. There will be loud noises for the next 2-3 days while we finish this project. If your pet will be scared or needs help with the noises we have multiple options we can discuss with you. Please call the office at 207-729-4164 for more information. Meet Dr. Miranda Smith
Dr. Smith is a very familiar face to many, many Bath-Brunswick Veterinary patients and clients. Dr. Smith has been with BBVA for 30 years!! She received her veterinary degree from Cornell University and served her internship at Oradell Animal Hospital in New Jersey. Along with canine and feline medicine, Dr. Smith also sees exotic pets such as rats, guinea pigs, snakes and turtles, and wildlife. Dr. Smith has committed many years of volunteer work to our local humane society and The Chewonki Foundation. Other special medical interests include geriatric medicine and behavior. We are so grateful and proud to have Dr. Smith on our team 🐾

Copper's mom called yesterday because he just wasn't "right". There was nothing about his behavior that was screaming emergency but he was suddenly not acting like himself and she was concerned. Thanks to her quick action and an evaluation by licensed veterinary technician Abby, and Dr. Charles Ellithorpe, the answer became very clear. Copper, a stick lover, had one lodged just under his tongue. While not common, this is something we see from time to time in dogs who play with sticks. We were however surprised by the length, which was just under 6 inches. This sweet boy went home just a few hours later and is expected to make a full recovery. ❤
Congratulations to Judy Tuck & Clover Hill Kennels on a beautiful litter of nine Bassett hound pups!!!! Attending surgeon, Dr. Charles Ellithorpe and the BBVA technicians did fabulous work, keeping "mom" and pups safe and sound. Enjoy!

In the spirit of Pet Dental Health Awareness Month, we feature "Miss Zoey." At nearly 15 years old, her owner had concerns about her dog's dental disease as well as risk of general anesthesia. Dr. Sarah Magenis carefully assessed Zoey's condition and guided her owner through treatment options. The result? Happy mouth, happy pup, and happy owner. Go, ZOEY!
Being a mom isn't easy. There is a lot of worry, stress and pressure. But, being a pet mom also comes with many rewards; wet, cold noses, slobbery kisses, and purring alarm clocks. In celebration of Mother's Day, we'd love to see pictures of you and your pets! Happy Mother's Day!
