Meet Wilma! This sweet, two-year-old pup made her big debut on the Jumbotron at the Maine Mariners Hockey game on Sunday, and now she’s looking to score the ultimate goal—a family of her own! 🏒🏠
Wilma is a loving and affectionate dog who absolutely adores people! She is also a fun-loving and gentle companion who thrives with human attention, and she is sure to bring joy to any household. She walks well on a leash, is adaptable to different situations, and could live with kids and other dogs pending a successful meet and greet. Meet Jade! She is a lovely 13-year-old lady who’s ready to retire in comfort and enjoy her golden years with the perfect family. Despite being brought to us as a stray, Jade has quickly warmed the hearts of everyone she meets with her sweet and gentle nature. She enjoys peaceful walks and will happily cuddle up for some well-deserved snuggles afterward. Jade may be a bit older, but she still has plenty of love and joy to offer. Midcoast Humane has teamed up with the Maine Mariners! Join us this Sunday, January 26th at 3pm for Pucks and Paws Night. Videos of Mariners players with our adorable animals will be featured during the game, and you can visit us (and some of our furry friends!) in the concourse prior to the event. This year, our wonderful friends at The Animal House - Damariscotta once again hosted their “12 Woofs of Christmas” fundraiser, spotlighting photos of our adoptable pets while inviting their customers to donate in support of the animals cared for by Midcoast Humane. The fundraiser spanned their three locations in Damariscotta, Brunswick, and Westbrook, resulting in an amazing collection of food, toys, litter, Kongs, rabbit hay, chew toys, and puzzle feeders for the animals in our care. We are so grateful to The Animal House and their generous customers for this incredible show of support – THANK YOU! Meet Billy! This handsome and lovable six-year-old goofball is ready to steal your heart! Recently Billy has really come out of his shell, and we know that he LOVES butt scratches! He is a pretty low-key guy, and would be more than happy to have some time in the yard to romp and relax in lieu of long walks. Billy could be a great fit for someone wanting a dog with lower energy who won't require a ton of exercise or stimulation. Billy is food motivated which makes him eager to learn, and he has made a lot of progress during his time with us. He will thrive in a patient home where he can take time to adjust to his new environment. An experienced adopter who can offer gentle guidance and a little extra TLC will help him shine! Princess is a beautiful two-year-old cat who is full of energy and loves chasing after feather toys or lounging in a sunny spot. Princess can be a bit spicy and she seems to prefer the company of men, but while she may not be affectionate in the traditional sense, she will accept gentle pets and seek out her people for playing. She would do great as the only cat in the home as she has not enjoyed sharing space with most of the other cats at the shelter, but we think she may be able to coexist with another cat with slow and mindful introductions. Princess will do well in a quiet and consistent home with people who are happy to keep her entertained and play with her! If you’d like to be the person to give this special cat the loving home she needs, visit her at our Brunswick Campus! Douglas is a handsome one-year-old dog with a giant personality and heart to match his 75 lb body! Douglas is a high-energy dog who loves to stay active and would thrive with an owner who enjoys outdoor adventures, running, or long walks. In his previous foster home, he worked on his manners and showed great potential! He did well with the dogs in that home, and with plenty of exercise and a little patience, Douglas will make an amazing companion for an active family.
