Its that time! The Fourth of July, what a day to celebrate!
Some fur-babies don't understand the big booms and pretty colors like we do. If you know your pet has a sound aversion to fireworks and you need medication to assist in the anxiety that fireworks bring, now is the time to start that process. With the influx of medication requests, we ask that you allow us a 72 hour turn around time.

There is a 30-60% increase in lost pets each year between July 4th and 6th. With that being said, make sure your pets are wearing their collars with ID tags and have a registered microchip.

Utilize some of these tips and tricks to desensitize them early on!

Hello Amazia Family!

This fella here is named Scot-E. He is a 1-year-old male pal looking for his forever home. Share, Share, Share!

He has got these long lanky legs that would make him a good running partner. However, he also has the snuggest and cuddliest personality that would make him a good couch buddy. Scot-E has been proven to be friendly with most dogs, most cats and has met a few young children and done well. We always suggest slow introductions between new faces, especially the kiddos. Scot-E is an adventurous and curious boy. His training has been limited but his eagerness to learn will make him a very great companion. Scot-E is currently living with a staff member as a foster pet. and another staff member is helping with training. Scot-E is in the transition of a new healthy lifestyle. He is getting neutered here shortly, updated on vaccines, has been dewormed and flea/tick medication has been administered. We do plan to microchip him for the future home.

In a positive home, Scot- E has shown that he does well with big and small dogs. He is not food aggressive. He has shown a submissive and tolerating attitude. Scot-E does well kenneled as long as it is covered and he gets positive reinforcement. He has a very persistent bark if he does not get his good boy treats for distraction. Scot-E has no desire to jump fences. Scot-E likes to hunt for China so monitoring digging behaviors is supported. He has the ability to open easy sliding, sliding doors. So, he will take himself right on out to the outdoors.

Scot-E does well on hardwood floor and is gentle going onto furniture, the other side of the coin is, when he plays indoors, he is like a bouncy ball boinging around like Tigger and his springing tail.

Scot-E is house trained but did make the choice to mark on new introduction to the foster home but has not done it since. This is being worked on and hopes to also be resolved with his neutering appointment. He has quite an appetite and has shown no allergies to the food he is on. He does gentle touches and grabs when hand feeding.

Scot- E has made a friend here at Amazia, guess who... Enzo! They play very well together and while we watch them interact, we have been reinforcing the good playful behavior. See the attached pictures.

For inquiries about giving this good boy a home, reach out to Amazia and ask for Alisha or Maria. They are handling the rehoming of this darn good boy!

We made it past the Holidays! We now enter the New Years phase. This entails fireworks and lots of extra parties. Take Bongos advice, stay home, eat lots, minimize the crazy with some good legal sedatives. It takes 48 hours to process prescription requests! Think ahead and get them in!

We hope everyone had a great holiday with your families!

Its that time of year! As a reminder, we are only open until 1pm on Saturday the 23rd. Closed on Monday the 25th and opening back up at 8am on Tuesday.

We hope everyone has a very Happy Holiday and gets to enjoy the time spent with family!

Things to keep in mind- please do not wait until the last minute to get any medications, put your requests in now! We need about 48 hours to approve and process requests. Keep a watchful eye on your feline friends climbing the trees and say no to the puppy dog eyes asking for table scraps.

Maria Erwin is our one and only Licensed Veterinary Technician! You likely have encountered her during your puppies vaccine boosters or other adult dog procedures that need to be carried out by licensed personnel. She graduated and passed the VTNE in 2021 and has been with Amazia Veterinary Services ever since, though you might catch her doing relief work at other local hospitals when needed. Maria is an amazing asset to AVS as she always comes in to work in a great mood and with a "can-do" attitude, but that's not what makes her special! Maria sees the best in every patient, no matter their history or temperment, and has saved numerous dogs with "bad behavior" due to her awesome training skills and exceptional patience. Maria's pack consists of 100% rescues and she would love to talk to you about all of them! When maria isn't working she enjoys reading, softball, paddle boarding and adventures outside. As well as spending time with her family and fiancé. We are so glad to have her around!

This summer, we lost our hay barn and feed floor to an accidental fire. Although some things are underway, much still needs to be done to care for the horses this winter. With about half the cost to rebuild covered, we are in need of a good old-fashioned “Barn Raising”!!

Come join us in celebrating all the good things God has
done this year, and support us in what is needed
to carry out His work for the future.
