We are making changes to Elee’s Acres. Jeff has been planning on building a shop right in the middle of the field. After seeing all the happy dogs and their humans enjoying the field, he decided to move the shop location directly behind the house. We decided to open up the front field to give as much space as possible for the Sniffspot. He put up a new fence yesterday between the spot and our “backyard.” This will give more privacy for guests, some who have been uncomfortable with dog access to our back slider, as well as cut off access to the grape arbor, plum trees and walnut tree since all can be toxic to dogs. We will be planting several new shade trees in the new spot this fall. We also plan on adding a permanent rain/sun shelter for the rainy season. We will continue to improve the Sniffspot space for dogs and people. In the next couple of weeks, Jeff will be putting new fencing around the entire spot which will make it more secure especially for small dogs. I am very happy that we found a solution that will allow us to continue to host and provide additional safety and privacy for our guests. Let me know what you think. See you soon!

What’s going on with all those fence posts springing up? Well, hubby has been planning to put a big shop right smack dab in the middle of the field. After hosting this Sniff Spot, he decided he couldn’t ruin the prime chuck-it space so he decided to move the shop behind the house. To maximize the sniff spot space, he is moving the fence by the gate and opening up that front section in the corner that has been fenced off. We will also be planting more shade trees and hope to add a permanent picnic shelter for the rainy months. I have my eye on something like this. It might take a while to fund it but Elee’s Acres has been BUSY so I think it’s doable!
