Attention clients who have used other online pharmacies in the past:
Due to issues when dealing with online pharmacies including Chewy, we will no longer be able to handle online requested prescriptions behind the scenes. Chewy and other online pharmacies will not accept emailed prescriptions and we no longer have a fax number with which to fax them.
As such, we will provide a written prescription for you to pick up within 48-72 hours after we receive the request that can be sent to the online pharmacy of your choice.
An alternative choice is to use the online store from our website, where prescriptions can still be approved by us online and sent to your home. We will include information on our online store with your written prescription if you choose to still use outside online pharmacies. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Good morning everyone. We just wanted to let you know that we are working with just Dr Kleman today and possibly tomorrow too. Dr Adams had surgery on her hand last Friday and will not be able to work until this Friday and Dr Mercer is out sick. She needs to be at home and
rest. We will have no Dr here today after 2:30, so we will only be able to do medication refills. We will not be able to answer any emergency questions or see any emergencies. We would refer you to NIVES in Ft Wayne for those situations. We are sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding and ask you to please be patient for the next couple of days.

These are our winners for the pumpkin carving contest! Way to go Lexi and Alexis! Thank you to the employees for your creativity and a big thanks to all of you for voting and the kind words!

We also had a soup competition last week, each day someone made and brought in a soup. The winner was Brooke with her very yummy cheeseburger soup! Thank you to all our wonderful chefs. We ate very well last week.

Yesterday our lovely staff wore all black! Complete black out.

Today, some of us wore costumes. We have a witch, a scarecrow, a cheetah, a mouse, some cool cats and siamese twins! Watson is a bunny and Chloe, Dr. Kleman's dog is a pumpkin!

Last night some of our lovely staff stayed after work and we carved pumpkins! We ordered pizza and listen to some fun Halloween music. Great time for some staff bonding.

Each pumpkin has the the artist's name on the picture. Please comment below your favorite pumpkin.

The favorite and runner up will get a gift card to a restaurant of their choice! Winner will be announced Wed the 25th!

Did you know that cats also have whiskers on their front legs? Whiskers help cats navigate space and detect what surrounds them. Never trim or pull out a cat's whiskers. There are bundles of nerves at the whiskers' follicles. These follicles also extend almost three times deeper into the skin compared to regular hair. Removing or trimming the whiskers will make your cat fearful and disoriented.😺

We had a very special patient come in today for an emergency surgery. This is Wolfy Dr. Adams and her technician Bre performed an eye laceration repair. His 9 year old owner will be so happy to have Wolfy back and healthy once again!

UPDATE: These kittens are still available if anyone would like to arrange a time to meet them, please call the office at 419-636-5081. We would like them to be indoor only, as they have never been outside.

We wanted to share a story with you today. This is Philip Snider with his cat, Waldo. Mr Snider had intended to get Waldo spayed, but was busy taking care of his wife who was at home in hospice.
When we first saw Waldo, she was very pregnant, making a spay impossible. Mr Snider was not able to take care of her and kittens at home, so we had Waldo stay with us until she had her kittens and the kittens were weaned so she could be spayed.
This past Tuesday was the day she was spayed, and Mr Snider took her home Yesterday. She had 4 kittens, all boys, that are still here. One will be going to his new home today, and Mr Snider says he has a friend who may take one of the others.
The second picture is Waldo with the two remaining kittens that need homes. If we can not find homes, the Defiance Humane Shelter has agreed to take them and find homes for them. They will probably be leaving for the shelter either tomorrow, or next week.
PLEASE, can we find the last 2 boys their forever homes? Contact our office at 419-636-5081, if you would like to schedule a time to meet these two sweet boys.

One of our employees has been fostering this sweet girl and 5 of her babies. Mama, little Binx and Jax are still looking for their forever home. Mama is about a year old, Binx and Jax are 8 weeks. If interested please let us know. There is a rehoming fee to ensure a proper home is found. Indoor homes only. They have been in homes with dogs but they are a little nervous around them. They have been examined by our staff, vaccinated (Binx and Jax will need continued visits until a certain age, dewormed, and mama cat was spayed last Wednesday.

We have 2 kittens that are ready for loving homes. The orange boy and black boy need homes. Disregard Watson in the background. They have had their first vaccines and feline leukemia/AIDS tested and are negative. Spread the word, please! We would love to find them homes!

Good morning. We hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far. We are going into the busiest time of the year for us and we would like to take some time to let you know of some things that will help us to give you the best visit possible.
Most people, especially since the weather is so nice, hate to sit at the vets office waiting for the Dr to see their pet. We are trying to help the problem of long wait times by asking you to let our receptionists know if you have any medical concerns with your pet. By law, we can not dispense any prescription medications unless your pet has been seen within the last year. This includes medications like heartworm prevention and any oral flea and tick medications. Some clients call and just need that yearly exam in order to get those medications. This is what we would call a yearly wellness exam. If your pet is due for their yearly exam, but you have medical concerns that the Dr needs to address, we ask that you let our receptionists know this so we can schedule the appropriate amount of time with the Dr. All too many times our patients are scheduled for their yearly wellness exams but the patient gets here and there are also medical problems that need addressed but there is not enough time scheduled. If this should happen, our Dr may have to have you come back for a follow up appointment to give them enough time to address those problems.
We just ask that if you can let our receptionists know ahead of time of any concerns, we can allow enough time to help your pet. Thank you so much and we look forward to seeing you this summer!

Good afternoon. We hope everyone is enjoying the spring weather. We just want to remind everyone of some rules we have when visiting our hospital. First is that ALL dogs need to be on a leash, unless they are small enough for you to carry into and out of the hospital. They should be on a leash before you get out of your vehicle and stay on a leash until they are safely back in your vehicle. We would not want any pet to get loose and get into traffic on our busy road. They should also have a well fitting collar that is not too loose that they can pull out of it. You should have it tight enough that you can fit 2 fingers underneath it.
The second reason for having your pet on a leash is so you have control over your pet in case they come in contact with another pet while at our hospital. Your dog may like other dogs, but the other dog you let your dog run up to, may not like other dogs. You should walk your dog in on a short leash, with your dog by your side. If you have a retractable leash, you should lock it in the shortest position possible for your dog to walk comfortably.
We would also ask that if you do have a pet that doesn't like other dogs, please let us know before you come into the hospital, so we can make special arrangements for your pet's safety, and the others who may be in our hospital.
And not to just pick on dogs, ALL cats need to be in a carrier, or we can provide one for you before bringing your cat into the clinic.
