We also carry a wide selection of flea/tick and heartworm preventative at competitive prices. We strive to provide excellent care and service for pets and also for their owners.

We have exciting news! If you have been in our office in the last week, you may have seen a new face. After a long search, we are very excited to welcome our newest veterinarian, Dr. Brittany Ashton.
Dr. Ashton graduated in 2013 from Fairview High School, attended Findlay College for her undergrad studies where she graduated in 2017, and then graduated in 2021 from The Ohio State University with a degree in Veterinary medicine.
She previously worked at the Animal Care Clinic in Auburn, Indiana. She is also a newlywed, having just been married to her husband, Ben, this past September.
Dr. Ashton is now accepting patients and we hope you will all make her feel welcome in her new position at our clinic.

Fountain City Veterinary Hospital was very proud to present donations to Saint Patrick's Catholic school and Bryan elementary school this Christmas. Presenting the first check is Dr. Kleman, Heather and their children who both attend Saint Patrick's. We wanted to share a story of the kind heartedness of one of our Veterinary Nurses. The first picture is of a dog that was rescued by the Fort Defiance Humane Shelter. This is "Winnie" and our Veterinary Nurse, Kayla, fell in love with her in an instant. As you can see, Winnie had a very large mammary tumor that resulted from her not being spayed at a younger age. The second picture shows Winnie's tumor before it was removed at our hospital. The third picture shows Winnie after her surgery and as you can see, she has gained weight (14 pounds) and very happy with Kayla.
Unfortunately Winnie had cancer that had spread to her lungs, but was with Kayla for 7 months. In that short time, Kayla gave her the best care, which also included major dental work on her mouth.
The last picture is of Kayla and Winnie on the day she was euthanized. She had the best 7 months of her life with Kayla. We also included a picture of another pet that Kayla had adopted previous to Winnie. This is Ruby and she was also adopted by Kayla at the Fort Defiance Humane Shelter. She was with Kayla for 2 1/2 years.
It takes a special person with a special heart to give older dogs the love and attention they probably never had until they meet someone like Kayla.
She is definitely one of a kind. We love you , Kayla, and are so proud to have you on our team at Fountain City Veterinary Hospital.

Last week we celebrated our staff for employee appreciation. We had a lot of fun playing some different games. We also had a lot of yummy treats and prizes. We know a lot of our clients have been receiving phone calls to reschedule their appointments with Dr Mercer. The reason for the reschedules is because she and her husband had a BABY BOY last Thursday. He was 4 weeks early, so we had already booked appointments for her for those 4 weeks. Everyone is doing great, he did not have to spend any time in the NICU and mom and baby were released Saturday.
With that being said, we now have just Dr Kleman and Dr Adams seeing appointments and doing surgery until Dr Mercer returns. Dr Adams also had already scheduled a vacation in the next week, thinking Dr Mercer would still be here. So, Dr Kleman will be alone seeing appointments.
We are asking for your patience and understanding at this time until we have all Dr's back in practice.

Attention clients who have used other online pharmacies in the past:
Due to issues when dealing with online pharmacies including Chewy, we will no longer be able to handle online requested prescriptions behind the scenes. Chewy and other online pharmacies will not accept emailed prescriptions and we no longer have a fax number with which to fax them.
As such, we will provide a written prescription for you to pick up within 48-72 hours after we receive the request that can be sent to the online pharmacy of your choice.
An alternative choice is to use the online store from our website, where prescriptions can still be approved by us online and sent to your home. We will include information on our online store with your written prescription if you choose to still use outside online pharmacies. We apologize for any inconvenience.
