🎉🐾 A (slightly) belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our furiend, Winston! 🐾🎉

Okay, okay… so someone turned 4 yesterday and we may have missed the memo. 😅 In our defense, we’ve known this handsome dude since he was just 4 months old, and time flies when you’re busy spoiling pups!

Winston, however, is deeply offended and has declared that the rest of today will be dedicated to royal treatment only.
✨ Treats? Yes… all of them.
✨ Pets? Don’t even think about petting anyone else.
✨ Dog food? Absolutely not. Only the finest of human delicacies for His Majesty.

What an honor it's been watching this rambunctious little monster grow into the sweet, playful, well-adjusted gentleman he is today.

🐾 Meet Minnie 🐾

Due to some very unfortunate circumstances, this sweet little lady is looking for a new home. 💔

We don’t know a whole lot about her just yet, but we hope to spend some time with her soon and learn more about her personality. For now, here’s what we do know:

✨ Name: Minnie
🐶 Age: 6 years old
💉 Status: Spayed and up to date on vaccines
🐕 Breed: Blue Heeler / Corgi cross
🐾 Other pets: Said to be good with cats; dog interactions unknown for now UPDATE : SMALL AND LARGE DOG FRIENDLY!
🩺 Health: Currently being treated for a UTI and will need to stay on a special urinary diet for life.
⚽ Active level: Active! This girl loves fetch but is overweight and gets winded easily. Could use an active home to help her get and stay in shape.
👫 Family dynamics: Men, women and kid friendly!
🚗 Backseat driver: Perfect passenger princess. Sat calmly in the back, got in and out of an SUV on her own.
🚶Walking: Walks perfectly on a leash with a harness, no pulling.
🛏️ Crate: Working on crate training. Enjoys snoozing in her crate of her own free will during the day with the door open. Needs coaxing to go into her crate for overnights.
🔊Vocal: Typically does not bark. Easily redirected.

For those curious about care costs, her special food runs about $35 for a 6.5 lb bag (around 2 weeks) or $92 for a 25 lb bag, and her UA treats are roughly $15 but last quite a while.

Minnie’s person was sadly placed in a situation where she couldn’t take Minnie with her, so Minnie is now in an emergency foster — but it’s not a long-term solution, as one family member isn’t comfortable having a dog.

We’d love to help Minnie find the loving, stable home she deserves. ❤️

How to unsuccessfully wear out a lab in four easy steps.

1) Start with one Lab and a toy.
2) Add a second Lab and a toy.
3) Add a third Lab and a toy.
4) Probably add a fourth Lab but all I had to offer was a Chiweenie.

Bonus step : You and the Chiweenie are exhausted the Labs are not. Hope you found this simple tutorial very helpful.

Don’t judge a dog by its muzzle 🐾

You may have noticed our friend Roxi rocking a new accessory lately...her muzzle! We wanted to take a moment to talk about why muzzles aren’t a bad thing and why they can actually save lives.

Muzzles often get a bad reputation, but they’re not just for dogs who don’t get along with others. Sometimes, like in Roxi’s case, they’re used for safety. Roxi is a bit of a scavenger, if it’s on the ground, she thinks it’s a snack. Earlier this year, she nearly lost her life after swallowing something she shouldn’t have. X-rays showed nothing, and in a last-ditch effort to save her, exploratory surgery revealed a small toy blocking her system. It wasn't the first, nor the last, time Roxi swallowed something she shouldn't have.

To help keep her safe, Roxi now wears her muzzle anytime she’s outside her kennel. Don’t worry she can still pant, drink, and play with it on! She even lets us know when she’s ready for a break and happily goes back to her kennel for some muzzle-free time. She also gets some couch cuddles under strict supervision.

So the next time you see a dog in a muzzle, remember: it doesn’t mean they’re “bad.” Some dogs wear them for their own protection, and sometimes it’s even to protect them from unfair judgment.

Muzzles save lives. ❤️
