Say hello to Adam! 👋

Next up in our staff introductions is the one and only Adam! A proud product of Douglas County (but we promise, we don’t hold it against him 😉), Adam has played a huge role in reshaping our shelter’s vibe, and he’s basically the definition of “overly dependable”—if that’s even a thing!

When he’s not working his magic here, Adam enjoys long beach walks and insists his jet-black beard is all-natural (though some of us have our doubts). 🤔

Adam’s always the one with a positive attitude and is ready to lend a hand, no matter what. He’s also the resident “snacker,” never passing up a cold Capri Sun and a trusty ham and cheese Lunchable!

Adam, you’re a ray of sunshine around here, and we’re so grateful for all the love and energy you bring to the shelter. We’re lucky to have you on the team! 🙌

***UPDATE: Trapper has been adopted!

To no fault of his own Trapper was brought back to us today. Some financial issues occurred with the family that adopted him and they could no longer afford him. So Trapper is asking for someone to please come adopt him to give him his forever home.

Next up in our staff introductions is Kaleb, one of our amazing Animal Control Officers! A proud graduate of Haralson County High School, Kaleb spends his downtime hunting for great deals on Facebook Marketplace. He's always ready to go the extra mile for the animals in Haralson County, bringing a positive attitude and finding solutions even in challenging situations.

Kaleb is known for being a bit camera-shy, so we had to dig up this photo from last year to share with you all.

A big thank you to Kaleb for everything he does for our furry friends! We're lucky to have him on our team. 🐾💙

We had a kiddo visit us today and she fell in love with Zelda! And Zelda did so good with her! Not videoed was Zelda sitting for her! Come meet our sweet girl and fall in love too!

Ms. Rocket decided she wanted to be part fish today. She had a blast splashing around and cooling down today! If you’ve been looking for an adventure buddy that loves water, come meet Rocket!

Our Story

Our Shelter is run by Haralson County Animal Control. Some of the animals who make their way here are owner surrendered, but most are picked up as strays by the Animal Control Officers who respond to citizen calls. We use this page to let the community know what animals are in the shelter, either looking for their owner, or looking for a new family. Thank you for 'Liking' our page, and come see us at the Shelter near the Big Bull in Buchanan! P.S. we have published our hours here on Facebook, but we were unable to specify that on Saturdays, we are only open the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month. Come see us on those two weekends!
