We are overjoyed to share that the beloved Ember (Gold Pond, Krystal Ember) and our sweet Akari are expecting puppies in March 2025! This litter is incredibly special as it represents our first planned breeding. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Both Ember and Akari embody the Golden Retriever breed standard in temperament and health. They have friendly, intelligent, and well-socialized personalities, promising exceptional companions for their future families. Both parents have received their CHIC certifications and have undergone extensive health testing, ensuring the well-being of their puppies.

We anticipate a beautiful range of coat colors in this litter, including shades of mahogany, copper, and auburn.

🐾 New Study Saturday🐾
At the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, CHF-funded researchers are testing new forms of therapy for bladder cancer in dogs. They are studying two drugs that may improve anticancer immune activity to improve long-term outcomes for dogs diagnosed with this cancer. Read more about this study here: https://bit.ly/4fFAWrO.

New information from UC Davis regarding recommended spay neuter ages by breed and gender based on the increased risks of joint diseases and certain cancers. The list now documents (40) popular dog breeds. The information is extremely interesting because it shows us that our current "blanket" recommendations based on "size" of the dog is not accurate in certain cases. For breeds that do not have specific data yet or mixed breed dogs the recommendation for spay neuter will be based on the current information we have available. "Finding a loving forever home for a wonderful 7-month-old female Golden Retriever, Piper. Due to unforeseen landlord issues, her current owners can no longer care for her and need to rehome her as soon as possible.

Looking for a loving forever home (or foster family!) for Sadie!

This sweet 10-year-old pup, Sadie, came to Evergreen Golden Retriever Club after her family sadly had to flee domestic abuse. Despite her past, Sadie is a total sweetheart! She's hard of hearing, but walks well on a leash and absolutely loves cuddling with her plush toys. So far, she seems to get along well with other pets and children.

Happy new year everyone.✨️❤️ 2023 has been a busy year and I felt like it went by so quickly. I am proud to say though that we did complete all of 2023 goals and then some though!
1) We partipated in at least 6 rally events. Akari even earned her rally 1 with USDAA and is only 1 more away from earning an AKC title.
2) Akari earned her CGC and ATT titles with flying colors
3) We performed at an IABCA event and even worked as a steward when not competing.
4) EGRC kept us busy this season when we participated in a couple hunt test events and assisted in the planning of the clubs summer conformation show.
5) We stayed current on health testing and participated in research regarding longevity, genetic diversity and cancer prevention.
Along with these goals I got involved with local rescue this summer and plan to continue to be a resource for the community for goldens in need. This coming year will be when Akari will have her final hip testing (prelims were good), and from there will determine if a breeding will be in her future. At this time I am no hurry as this has been a rough year from many people emotionally and economically. As 2024 begins I will be evaluating many things, including finding and adequate stud, to determine if 2024 will be a good year for a first litter.

Phew! All of this while continuing my day to day job, raising children, and completing grad school. Here's to 2024! May it be blessed with love, kindness and things that bring you joy
