Supercharging Our Puppies with ENS & Early Scent Introduction! 🧠👃

We're taking extra steps to give our golden retriever puppies the best possible start in life with Avidog's Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI) programs! 🚀

What is ENS & ESI?

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS): A series of five gentle exercises performed daily during the first two weeks of a puppy's life. These exercises stimulate the neurological system, leading to improved cardiovascular performance, stronger heartbeats, stronger adrenal glands, and greater resistance to stress.

Early Scent Introduction (ESI): Involves introducing puppies to a new scent daily from day 3 to day 16. This helps to develop their scent recognition abilities and can have a lasting impact on their future scent work.

Why We're Doing It

As responsible breeders, we're committed to producing well-adjusted, healthy, and confident dogs. ENS and ESI are proven methods that can give our puppies a significant advantage.

How We Do It
Following the Avidog program, we:
Introduce a new scent daily, such as herbs, fruits, and training items.
Gently handle each pup individually, allowing them to explore the scent.
Keep detailed records of each pup's reactions to track their development.

Akari had her ultrasound today! She sure is looking pregnant and it was confirmed there are at least 5 pups!! ❤️❤️❤️ She handling the pregnancy well so far. Looking forward to these beautiful babies next month!

We are overjoyed to share that the beloved Ember (Gold Pond, Krystal Ember) and our sweet Akari are expecting puppies in March 2025! This litter is incredibly special as it represents our first planned breeding. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Both Ember and Akari embody the Golden Retriever breed standard in temperament and health. They have friendly, intelligent, and well-socialized personalities, promising exceptional companions for their future families. Both parents have received their CHIC certifications and have undergone extensive health testing, ensuring the well-being of their puppies.

We anticipate a beautiful range of coat colors in this litter, including shades of mahogany, copper, and auburn.

🐾 New Study Saturday🐾
At the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, CHF-funded researchers are testing new forms of therapy for bladder cancer in dogs. New information from UC Davis regarding recommended spay neuter ages by breed and gender based on the increased risks of joint diseases and certain cancers. The list now documents (40) popular dog breeds. The information is extremely interesting because it shows us that our current "blanket" recommendations based on "size" of the dog is not accurate in certain cases. For breeds that do not have specific data yet or mixed breed dogs the recommendation for spay neuter will be based on the current information we have available. Evergreen golden retriever club is aware of a 7 month old in the Spokane area needing to be rehoused.

"Finding a loving forever home for a wonderful 7-month-old female Golden Retriever, Piper. Due to unforeseen landlord issues, her current owners can no longer care for her and need to rehome her as soon as possible.

Looking for a loving forever home (or foster family!) for Sadie!

This sweet 10-year-old pup, Sadie, came to Evergreen Golden Retriever Club after her family sadly had to flee domestic abuse. Despite her past, Sadie is a total sweetheart! She's hard of hearing, but walks well on a leash and absolutely loves cuddling with her plush toys. So far, she seems to get along well with other pets and children.
