Porter is a 3-year-old neutered male beagle/corgi/pit mix. He weighs about 30 pounds. He needs a new home because he is uncomfortable around the family’s toddler; he tends to leave the room when she gets active.
He has a lot going for him:
• He is fully crate-trained; he sleeps overnight in a crate.
• He is easily trainable – eager to participate & strongly food-motivated. He knows several behaviors, including a few tricks and some agility.
• He loves going for walks or jogs.
• He enjoys playing fetch and can easily settle down after the game is over.
• He is comfortable with unfamiliar people, if given a bit of time and space to warm up to them.
• He plays well with the family’s Golden retriever. And he’s played well with several other dogs, yet is likely too intense for most puppies.
• He lives with a cat, without issue.
• He is fully potty-trained.
Special requirements:
• Porter needs a home without children under the age of 8.
• Porter has learned to climb the family’s 5’-tall cedar fence, and in one instance, did so to chase and nip a skateboarder in front of the house. The injury was minor and the fence height was raised yet Porter again managed to climb out. He will need a securely fenced yard, or, with regular exercise, he could do well without access to a fenced yard.
