Our boy!!

Though Otto here a Shepard mix may be 13 years old, he sure doesn’t let that slow him down! This s***ky boy is desperately in need of a forever home as he has been in 3 different shelters in just 2 years... Otto is now at the Bucksport Animal Shelter and is looking for his own people who will give him love and treats of course! He is a talkative boy and loves to be next to people and LOVES water!! Otto needs to be in an only pet home as he likes having all of the attention! He will need an owner who is experienced with shepherds and someone who will give him lots of time to get used to being in a home as it’s been so long since he’s lived in one.

UPDATE: the goose has been caught and is in foster at a farm while we search for the owners

There has been a loose goose hanging around the area of 1122 Silver Lake Road (Bucksport) for a few days now. It seems to be a domesticated goose, if you are missing a goose or may know whose it is please contact ACO Bishop 207-307-8090

Introducing Nala! This s***ky girl first came into the shelter when she was left behind when her people moved... they left her outside so she came in with a wound on her back probably from another animal trying to get at her. Since then Nala has healed and is as active as ever. Though she is a bit skittish at first, she warms up once she knows you're not going to hurt her. She loves to climb and be up in high places so she would love a cat tree in her new home!

Nala is good with other cats but would do best in a no dog home. This lovely lady is 2 years old, spayed, and up to date on vaccines.

June Bug is an adorable and endearing cat with a lively personality. Although she has a strong appetite and will definitely tell you when it's dinner time, her attractive coloring and captivating nature make her truly special. June Bug is sadly FIV positive but she doesn't let that stop her from hoping her family will come soon! She would prefer to be the only cat but may be able to get used to a dog who won't be in her face too much. On the other hand, she would be an ideal companion for families with older children who can interact with cats responsibly.

June Bug enjoys spending time by windows, watching the outside world, and of course, treats! This lovely lady is around 5 years old, spayed, and up to date on vaccines.

Please note, Betsy went missing on 10/18/24. Betsy is a black and tan Chihuahua who is 7 lbs an only 9 months old. She went missing on Pease Ln. in Frankfort, ME. She has no collar or ID. Who likes old dogs with some pep in their step still? Well look no further than Mr. Otto.

Otto has been here for a bit with no interest at all! He's a 13-year-old shepherd mix. Don’t let his crinkle cut ears fool you, he does listen, especially when he finds his person. He loves water and if you have a hose, he would love to have fun with that when it warms up. He is also very food motivated and would do anything for a treat! He likes to talk back to you especially around meal time.

Otto would do best in a home with no other pets, as he loves to be the center of attention. This sweet boy is in need of a home, a human to call his own and a couch to nap on. 🩵

Calling all black cat lover:! Lilac decided it was her spotlight moment and is ready for a furever home!

This sweet girl is very easy going and would love a person to cuddle up with on the couch or in bed. Lilac is good with other cats and could warm up to a dog with some time; she could go into any home as long as she gets cuddles, she will be happy. She is about 3-4 years old and first came into the shelter with her 3 kittens who have all been adopted. Lilac is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.

Please NOTE:

With a co-pay of only $10, this voucher program is for people who receive state assistance such as TANF, SNAP, SSI, SSDI, or food stamps. If you would like to schedule an appointment to use one, please email us at [email protected] with the following information:
1. Your name and phone number
2. How many cats you have (2 is the limit per household)
3. What state assistance benefit you receive
4. Proof of assistance (a photo of your food stamp card, or award letter stating you receive food stamps, TANF, SNAP, SSI, or SSDI.
If you qualify for a voucher and a voucher remains, we will call you to collect the $10 co-pay over the phone with a credit or debit card. We do not accept cash for this. If you don't have the $10 available, we will call the person in the next email in line until the vouchers are used up. Vouchers are first come, first served.
