Throwback Thursday.... a family picture in 1955. We lived in Kersey, Colorado, and my dad was managing Hi Line Pony Farm in Greeley and Denver. There was a rodeo in Greeley that had a Shetland Pony show (amazing, yes?) and as a surprise they had a secret Rodeo Queen. The Rodeo Queen, a Shetland Pony, Ms Adams, arrived in my dad's trailer. Along with her, her daughter, Miss Brownie. My mother made the costumes and also the outfits that my sister, Marcia, and I wore. Many years later, 2012, our two grandchildren, Grayson and Ella, wore those same outfits.
Note my jeans. I was growing so fast that they saved money buying my jeans way too long and folded up. LOL.

I love to share history of miniature horses and from time to time pull out "stuff" from my archives. Here is an article that I did for the Mini Whinny for the Southwestern Miniature Horse Club way back in 1988 entitled "Sales Report".

What can we find for Throwback Thursday? Here is one from 2001 the one year that we homeschooled Lauren which allowed to make our only trip to AMHR Nationals in Columbus. It was right after the attack of 911 and the judges had to drive from California and other locals because all air flights were cancelled. I remember the management asked me to sing several patriotic songs for the show openings. It was a very stormy time weatherwise as well and this is a picture of Lyn Yung and me trying to stay with our stalls high on a muddy hill!

Sure need to paint the fence! El Dorado again. Steve got some that I really like, even though he hasn't been clipped in a year.

This is to remember and honor John Lambert who died earlier this week. A picture of him when he trained and won Reserve National, before we changed it to World, with Little America's Aladdin Blue, in Reno, NV, in 1995 and the previous year in Columbus, Ohio. Owned by our dear departed friend, Becky Birdwell at the time.

Here are some memories of the World Show in 2005. An amazing year.

Throwback Thursday. Our first homegrown National Reserve Champion, Little America's Aladdin Blue with Becky Birdwell, Betty (?), being groomed by Linda Lambert in Columbus, Ohio in 1994. He won Reserve as a weanling and the next year, the same in Reno, as a yearling. He placed behind the same horse both years which says a lot about the judges being consistent.

Let's see what we can find for Throwback Thursday. This is from 1981. Tony and Lisa with Greaves' Big 'Un. He was our first miniature sized horse born in 1963 and our first registered when AMHA started. He was 15 years old and had been used as a teaser for my dad's Quarter Horse operation, Flight 8, while I was in college, grad school and NY acting. Then headed our search for a place in miniature history.
