Monarch Stables is a hunter jumper boarding and training facility in Austin, Texas. Monarch Stables offers a fresh approach to hunter jumper training and instruction for all levels of riders. Monarch’s facility is a 56 acre equine oasis located only 13 miles from downtown Austin. Grassy rolling hills slope to tree-lined Onion Creek affording opportunities to trail ride, stroll with a friend, or ev

en catch a fish on a quiet afternoon. Horses enjoy daily turnout, a customized training program, memory foam stall mattresses, and regular rides in the large outdoor arena and riding field. Monarch Stables trainers Kalli Smith and Amy Gangstad work together to provide a coordinated training program for each horse and rider. Both trainers emphasize the importance of correct flat work in developing finished show horses and skillful child and adult riders. Each brings years of experience and her own style to teaching horsemanship and hunt seat equitation skills to all levels and ages of riders.

Thanks to all of the Monarch riders who competed with us at the Final Chase last week. We had a great time at our last show of the 2024 season! 🏆 Everyone rode really well and, as always, our horses were amazing! Big shout outs to our Final Chase Division Champions- Jubilant Z ridden by Wesley Whitworth in a competitive Low Children’s Hunter Division, Carlysle Drosos riding Allie Eikenhorst’s Verdi in the Junior Equitation 14U, and Quinn Walker riding London Calling in the Opportunity Verticals (the pair was also Reserve Champion in the Opportunity X-Rail Division). Cate Castelluccio rode her own Nadal Z to Reserve Champion in the younger Children’s Hunter Division and Katherine Dixon was Reserve Champion in the Short Stirrup Hunter Division riding Ryleigh Richardson’s KBC Rockin’ Acre. Hannah Sprague finished the season with a win in the NHS Hamel Equitation O/F and Avery Reid and Ryleigh Richardson scored some points with second place finishes in the Maclay and Jumpseat Medal classes. 🏅

Monarch Stables had so much fun at the Autumn Classic show in Katy last week. 🍁Jamie Smithson got us off to a great start to the week with some lovely rounds on her own Wrenly. Avery Reid, Ryleigh Richardson, Carlysle Drosos, Scarlett Bellm, and Josephine Hodson showed off their Equitation style all weekend! Carlysle and Scarlett won their equitation on the flat classes in their divisions. Avery and Ryleigh were division Champion and Reserve Champion in the 15-17 Equitation and 1st and 2nd in the Jumpseat Medal. 🥇🥈 Avery and Carlysle were 2nd and 3rd in the USEF Hunter Seat Medal and the Maclay. 🥈🥉 Carlysle also rode Dreamgirl 22 to a 4th place finish in the Mini Prix, and Stephanie Webb rode Faberlina to a win in the .75 jumpers! 🙌🏼

Thanks to all of our riders for a fun time at the Harvest show in Katy last week! 🍁 Just a few of our highlights: Congratulations to Carlysle Drosos, on her wins riding Allie Eikenhorst’s Verdi, in the Junior Equitation 14/U. The two won all 3 classes and took home Champion awards in the Zone and division. 👏🏼 Dana Dettmer and Allie Eikenhorst also brought home blues in their Equitation classes with Jamie Smithson and Scarlett Belm right behind them in second. Verdi took home Reserve Champion in the Younger Children’s Hunter Division. Ainsley Peyton won two Opportunity classes. Wesley Whitworth won the warm up in the pouring rain on Saturday on her new ride, Carige. In the jumper ring, Carlysle rode Monarch Stables’ Dreamgirl 22 to a win in the 1.20M Junior Jumpers and the Reserve Champion in the Zone and Division and the “Incredible” Marjorie Martin was second in the Low Adult Classic! 🙌🏼
