Thanks to all of our riders for a fun time at the Harvest show in Katy last week! 🍁 Just a few of our highlights: Congratulations to Carlysle Drosos, on her wins riding Allie Eikenhorst’s Verdi, in the Junior Equitation 14/U. The two won all 3 classes and took home Champion awards in the Zone and division. 👏🏼 Dana Dettmer and Allie Eikenhorst also brought home blues in their Equitation classes with Jamie Smithson and Scarlett Belm right behind them in second. Verdi took home Reserve Champion in the Younger Children’s Hunter Division. Ainsley Peyton won two Opportunity classes. Wesley Whitworth won the warm up in the pouring rain on Saturday on her new ride, Carige. In the jumper ring, Carlysle rode Monarch Stables’ Dreamgirl 22 to a win in the 1.20M Junior Jumpers and the Reserve Champion in the Zone and Division and the “Incredible” Marjorie Martin was second in the Low Adult Classic! 🙌🏼

Congratulations on a great week at the National Horse Show Hannah Sprague and Carlysle Drosos! Both girls brought home ribbons from their age group equitation classes and had solid rounds over the challenging Hamel Final course. 🙌🏼

Congratulations to Ryleigh Richardson and Carlysle Drosos on a great two weeks at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show. Ryleigh Richardson was eighth in the age group equitation and Carlysle Drosos was 7th in the NCEA/USEF Medal Final! 🏅

🏆 Quinn Walker and London Calling were Champion in the 18” and Reserve Champion in Cross Rails division at their first show together! 👏🏼

🥈 Nora Uccelo and Monarch Stables’ Busta Rhymes, took Reserve Champion in the Short Stirrup Division!

🙌🏼 Ainsley Peyton and Professor X made their horse show debut together with a win in the 18”!

Congratulations to all our riders for their fang-tastic performances! We’re beyond proud of each of you, and can’t wait for more thrilling rides to come!

Topaz, you made so many little girl’s dreams come true. You were a kind and gentle teacher and we are so thankful for all that you taught Marnee, Wesley, Katherine, and Isabel during your time here at Monarch Stables. We will remember your love and the lessons you taught us and you will always be a common bond between these girls. You will forever be in our hearts and are an important part of our history as horsewomen and friends. Thank you for all that you have given. We hope you run free on green pastures, find a never ending supply of peppermints, and receive so much love on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. ❤️

🍁 Monarch Stables Highlights from the Fall Classic horse show at Great Southwest Equestrian Center last week 🍁:
• Busta Ryhmes owned by Monarch Stables and shown by Nora Uc***lo took Reserve Champion in the Short Stirrup Division (way to make the move up from the Opp look easy Nora!).
• Josephine Hodson earned the Reserve Champion in the Children’s Equitation riding Peanut Butter Falcon.
• Phoebe Risk rode Marjorie Martin’s Game Power to Reserve Champion in the Low Adult Jumper Division.
Other exciting moments included Allie Eikenhorst’s win in the Limit Equitation on the Flat, Scarlett Belm’s win in the Limit U/S riding MTM Zendaya, and Carlysle Drosos’ win in the NHS Hamel Medal riding Dragon Rabbit Capital’s Conletino PS. Abby Finch and her own Hampton were back in great form with a second in the Adult Hunter Classic and Cate Castelluccio rode her own Nadal Z to 3rd in the Children’s Hunter Classic. 👏🏼

What a weekend at Southwest Showdown!
• Eloise Casey & Home Aroan took Champion at their first show together in the Opportunity Cross Rails & 18” Divisions! 🏆
• Cate Castelluccio & Nadal Z had a brilliant debut together, winning their first class together in the competitive Low Children’s Division! 🌟
• Wesley Whitworth & Jubilant Z won the Younger Children’s Classic, followed by Carlysle Drosos aboard Alexandra Eickenhorst’s Verdi who took second! 🥇🥈
• Avery Reid & Hannah Sprague were unstoppable in the Jump Seat Medal, placing 1st and 2nd! 🥇🥈These ladies also had wins in the USEF Medal with Hannah taking 1st followed by Avery in 2nd. 🔥
• Another new pair, Scarlett Bellm and MTM Zendaya, won the Limit Eq Flat and Low Children’s Under Saddle! 🎉
• Ryleigh & Carlysle won their respective sections of the Junior equitation on the flat, with Avery taking second in the older equitation group. 👏🏼
We can’t wait to get back to it this weekend for Great Southwest Fall Classic! 🍁

Kolvenier (“Koly”)
April 4, 1992-August 20, 2024

Koly- You were one of our all time greats; the stuff of little girls’ dreams. A true show pony who loved the pampered life of grooming, treats, and adoring children. Not only did you love teaching the littles the ropes, you were always at your best in the show ring… ears forward, hunting the jumps, almost smiling at the judge and all your fans. And you had so many fans!

In 32 years of life you accomplished so much, competing for the Belgian Junior Dressage Team in Europe before flying across the pond to accomplish more great things in America. You helped Penelope and Holly Harper earn their Bronze Medals then you made a career change at the young age of 16 and became a top Pony Hunter. Your first year as a Pony Hunter, you won Large Green Pony Hunter Champion in Zone 7. I think you were Champion or Reserve Champion every time out and you made everything you did look so easy! I’m sure you could have competed in the Large Pony Hunter division for many more years but we decided to give you an easier job as a Children’s, Short Stirrup, and Opportunity Pony and you continued to give your very best in every arena at the shows and at home. You lived a full and loved life and were cared for and admired by many.

We are so grateful to have been a part of your life. Thank you to the Harper family for allowing us to care for Koly all these years and to Koly for giving so much confidence to so many young girls. Koly taught Penelope, Laura, Holly, Elise, Hallie, Harper, Kyra, Carlysle, Emmy, Kate and countless others many skills including connection, feel, and the joy of a perfectly balanced canter.

Like many beautiful souls before you, today you walked the Rainbow Bridge. We know you are now free of your body’s pains and hope you have comfort with your friends on the other side: Joya, Merrylegs, and Mikey. Special thanks to the Monarch team, especially Amy Gangstad, for the extra care and attention you gave to Koly this Summer when he needed it most. Koly will be missed but never forgotten at Monarch Stables.
