Kolvenier (“Koly”)
April 4, 1992-August 20, 2024

Koly- You were one of our all time greats; the stuff of little girls’ dreams. A true show pony who loved the pampered life of grooming, treats, and adoring children. Not only did you love teaching the littles the ropes, you were always at your best in the show ring… ears forward, hunting the jumps, almost smiling at the judge and all your fans. And you had so many fans!

In 32 years of life you accomplished so much, competing for the Belgian Junior Dressage Team in Europe before flying across the pond to accomplish more great things in America. You helped Penelope and Holly Harper earn their Bronze Medals then you made a career change at the young age of 16 and became a top Pony Hunter. Your first year as a Pony Hunter, you won Large Green Pony Hunter Champion in Zone 7. I think you were Champion or Reserve Champion every time out and you made everything you did look so easy! I’m sure you could have competed in the Large Pony Hunter division for many more years but we decided to give you an easier job as a Children’s, Short Stirrup, and Opportunity Pony and you continued to give your very best in every arena at the shows and at home. You lived a full and loved life and were cared for and admired by many.

We are so grateful to have been a part of your life. Thank you to the Harper family for allowing us to care for Koly all these years and to Koly for giving so much confidence to so many young girls. Koly taught Penelope, Laura, Holly, Elise, Hallie, Harper, Kyra, Carlysle, Emmy, Kate and countless others many skills including connection, feel, and the joy of a perfectly balanced canter.

Like many beautiful souls before you, today you walked the Rainbow Bridge. We know you are now free of your body’s pains and hope you have comfort with your friends on the other side: Joya, Merrylegs, and Mikey. Special thanks to the Monarch team, especially Amy Gangstad, for the extra care and attention you gave to Koly this Summer when he needed it most. Koly will be missed but never forgotten at Monarch Stables.

Congratulations to Wesley Whitworth and Jubilant Z on their great rounds at GLEF 4 and 5! These two were awarded Reserve Champion in the younger Children’s Hunters Week 4 and third in the Children’s Hunter Classic. 👏🏼

When presented with JustWorld International’s Adopt A Project after winning a bronze medal in the FEI North American Youth Championships children’s jumping, Zones 7/8 prioritized the health clinic in Guatemala. Violet Rheingold, Isabella Uhrig, Carlysle Drosos and Haley Honegger spent time after the press conference in Traverse City, Michigan, to select and present their choice.💜🌎

“We chose this project because we want to give medicine and medical attention to [El Patojismo in] Guatemala,” Haley Honegger said. “We want to help stock the clinics and give them the vital medical supplies so they can have healthy children who can help make the world a better place.”🩺🏥🇬🇹

Congratulations to Carlysle Drosos on her NCEA Medal wins riding Dragon Rabbit LLC’s Conletino PS. And to Hannah Sprague on her USEF Jumping Seat Medal win riding her own Cassanova Z. 🎉Allie Eikenhorst was awarded the Reserve Champion riding her new horse, Argento in the 11U Equitation. 👏🏼Ryleigh Richardson took third in the NCEA Medal week 2 riding Phantom Van De Lindehoven.🥉Josephine Hodson jumped her first age group Equitation tracks in the Netjets rings and pinned in her over fences and flat classes. 🌟Avery Reid has ridden Diamant and Bad and Boujee to placings in the WIHS, Dover, NCEA and 15-17 Equitation. 💫We are so proud of all our equitation riders- Avery Reid, Ryleigh Richardson, Carlysle Drosos, Hannah Sprague, Josephine Hodson, Allie Eikenhorst, and Elizabeth Hicks- who have been competitive in big classes over hard courses during our Summer in Michigan. 🙌🏼 Special thanks to Diane Carney for her amazing instruction during GLEF 1 and 2 and to the whole Monarch Team who helps make this possible!🦋

We loved seeing everyone at our 10 year anniversary party. We have worked hard as a team to produce so many great moments for our horses and riders and it has always been a group effort that includes the whole Monarch staff, vets, farriers, and our amazing clients. Together we are Monarch and together we make our own history. We are proud of the growth we have achieved over the last 10 years and that we are such a big part of so many peoples’ lives and the Texas Hunter/Jumper community. Last week two of our riders, Carlysle Drosos and Phoebe Risk, were given the opportunity to learn from, and ride in the MZ Farms/USHJA Emerging Athletes Program.🌟 We are so proud of them for challenging themselves and taking this step in advancing their horsemanship and riding. 💐 Pin Oak Week III Highlights 💐
✨ Carlysle Drosos & Sainted were Champion in the 3’3” Junior Hunter 15/U Division.
✨ Nora Uccelo and Busta Ryhmes continued their success on day 2 with Reserve Champion in Opportunity.
✨ Wesley Whitworth and Jubilant Z were Reserve Champion in the Low Children’s Hunter Division.
✨ Katherine Dixon was Reserve Champion with First P*k in both the Short Stirrup & the 2’ Pin Oak Hunter Division.
✨ Phoebe Risk and Game-Power were Reserve Champion in the .90m Training Jumper.
✨ Isabel Arnold and Falling Moon Topaz had a great first show together, bringing home Reserve Champion in the Walk Trot Poles!
✨ Carlysle Drosos’ Crime Time 6 placed 6th in the Medium Junior Jumper Classic.
✨ Wesley and Jubilant Z were also 2nd in the Low Children’s Hunter Classic, followed closely by Josephine Hodson and Peanut Butter Falcon who placed 6th! 🙌🏼

Wow! What a great 3 weeks in Katy! Thank you Pin Oak Charity Horse Show for another year of amazing memories, we look forward to making more next year!
