Here's a portrait I did of a grandparents' house. ❤️ Lots of times I'm asked to change certain things about a house so that it matches how the house looked many years ago--maybe when the customer was younger or before renovations were made by new owners. Sometimes no photos are available of the house so we make it work! The only request here was to leave off the flagpole! ☺️ (A new addition to the house by the current owners!)

Fitting all the grandeur of this house into 6 inches was a bit intimidating! I'm getting better and better at fitting in those tiny details where I can. I count each window pane, sketch and stitch every eave of the roof, mix paint colors over and over til they match the house perfectly... Thank God for my reading glasses! 🤓❤️

A wide ranch-style home sometimes calls for a little extra something on the top and bottom of a house portrait. I added some greenery to this 4" portrait and love how it came out. The owners have red, yellow, and white roses in the front flowerbed, but didn't have photos of the roses in bloom. No problem. A needle and thread can bring springtime to the middle of winter!🌹💕🌞

Sometimes I forget to take final photos of a piece before rushing it to the post office. 🤦‍♀️ Luckily I always take final approval photos for customers! More tiny flags on this one! This pretty brick house looks simple, but look closer. I'm often asked how long it takes me to stitch a house. This 4-inch portrait took at least 25 hours all together, between sketching, stitching, painting, finishing... 😴 So please when you are surprised at what a maker charges for his or her art, just know there are many hours of detailed work put into each piece! 💕 And this is just the 4-inch size! 🤯 I create these pieces as gifts to last a lifetime, unlike that fancy dinner out or pricey bottle of wine. K, back to stitching! 😂🙈😂
