More information about the mystery respiratory illness that's going around.

Santa Barbara County Public Health issued an canine health advisory regarding the recently reported increase in respiratory infections among dogs. There is a mysterious canine respiratory illness that is going around the US, and we have cases reported in California. To help all of us keep our furry friends safe, PAWS Park board members reached out to local veterinarians for advice.

Please keep your dogs away from social settings like the park. Day care also greatly increases their exposure. The recommendation is to walk on a leash and to not greet other dogs.

We are not closing the park, but please keep potentially sick dogs at home until they get the all clear and limit your dog's potential exposure.

Looking for a volunteer to help out the park. Person(s) would be in charge of taking the trash bins down to the street every Tuesday afternoon/evening, so that they can be emptied Wednesday mornings.

The board will happily sign off on community service/volunteer hours if requested.

If you are interested please contact [email protected].

Thank you all in advance.

Please be advised, we have a water leak in the small dog yard. We are working to fix the issue.

Please excuse the footing. The grass in both yards is currently undergoing a revamp.

We have been systematically killing the burr producing w**ds using an organic, pet safe w**d killer. This process is almost complete. When it is, new grass seed will be laid so that we can all enjoy our lush, verdant park.

April's Big Dog is Deela. Deela was rescued from a village in the Middle East and was found tied to a fence and her ears cut. She made her way to Solvang and her owners have done a doggie dna test and the results came back "Middle Eastern Village Dog". Who knew that was a breed. Lucky Deela is now a Solvang Village Dog.

Paws Park Patrons, wanted to share this post from the City of Buellton's FB page. Although we have not seen any instances, or concerns with dog park patrons violating the recommended 6 foot social distancing standards, due to the COVID-19 Virus, it's very important that all dog park patrons remain vigilant in helping to maintain this standard for our community's health and welfare. Thank you and stay safe - Paws Park
