We exceeded our fundraising goal and raised over 150k dollars! We had an amazing turnout with so many smiling faces and kind words 🥰
Our dogs and kittens were wonderfully behaved and captured the hearts of so many who met them! We even had a few adoptions thanks to the connections made! 😊🐶🐱

Hi everyone! My names Frankie!!
I’m a 1 year old German shepherd mix. I’m a big boy with an even bigger heart! I really love my friends here at the humane society but I really want to go home. I love chasing balls and sometimes I’ll even bring it to you if you ask me nicely. I love cuddles but I love belly rubs even more than that! I can be a little selective when it comes to other canine friends so maybe a single dog home might be best for me for now. Id love to find a home where I can run and play but, cuddle and sleep with at the end of the day! Being a German shepherd an apartment wouldn’t be ideal for me. I’m a very active boy and need lots of mental stimulation to be the best boy that I could possibly ever be! I love meeting people so come see me!!! 🎾 🐾
Time to bring back our ✨“Dine with the Dogs”✨ series where a staff member and volunteer bring dogs out to lunch to test them in a social, sit- down setting.
🌿 This weekend we brought Willow along with us! 🩵
Willow is a three year old Belgian Malinois/ husky mix. Although she has high energy at the shelter, as soon as you get her out in public, she turns into a different dog: relaxed and at ease. This girl is dog friendly and also loves making human friends.
She slept and chillaxed all through lunch, taking in the nearby chirping birds and light breeze. She didn’t once beg for food and got a yummy burger patty as a reward for her excellent behavior. 😋
The whole car thing was strange for her to figure out at first, but she quickly got the hang of it and jumped right in for the ride back. 🚖
This girl would be a perfect lunch date and definitely passed all the tests ✅

Every weekend, a kennel attendant at SYVHS will take a dog out to lunch to test our dog’s abilities out in a public, sit-down setting.
🍑 This week, our date was Georgia! This sweet peach is about a year old and a Belgian Malinois/ Shepard mix. Despite her breed, Georgia is very docile and curious of her surroundings. All lunch long, she participated in some good people watching! 👀
She was able to calmly sit beside us while we ate. She even waited very patiently for her burger patty! 🍔
She’s also good in the car and was able to settle quickly.
She’s a little weary on getting in the car, but we’ll work on that!

Gabby, reporting live from my little corner of the world, and boy, did I have a tail-wagging good time today! So, you know my buddy Bolt, right? Well, we spent the afternoon in an epic play session that left us both with big, goofy grins on our faces. Bolt and I, we're like the dynamic duo of doggy adventures. 🐕🐾
Bolt's got this incredible energy that matches mine paw-for-paw, and we chased each other around, played a game of fetch, and just soaked up the sunshine together. It was pure bliss! 🌞
Don't get me wrong; our playdates are the highlight of my day, but Bolt deserves a place to call his own, filled with love and cuddles from his very own human(s) too. So, as I lay here, reflecting on the joy of today's playdate, my furry heart is sending out vibes for Bolt to find a family soon.
