🆘 We Need Your Help! Donate Enrichment Items for Our Shelter Pets! 🐾

Our shelter pets rely on frisbees, lick mats, slow feeders, treat puzzles, and interactive treat-dispensing toys every day for mental stimulation and enrichment. These items help keep them calm, happy, and engaged while they wait for their forever homes—but we’re running low and need your help to restock!

💡 Why These Items Matter:
✔ Help reduce stress and anxiety in a shelter environment
✔ Prevent boredom-related behaviors
✔ Provide mental stimulation and encourage problem-solving

🐾 Meet Cranberry & Pecan – The Perfect Pair Looking for a Forever Home! 🐾

Cranberry and Pecan are an adorable 8-month-old brother and sister duo who have been waiting far too long for a family of their own. They’ve watched all their siblings find loving homes, but somehow, they’ve been left behind. We don’t want them to grow up in the shelter—these two deserve a lifetime of love!

🖤 Cranberry (black & white, male) is a total sweetheart. He’s affectionate, outgoing, and a social butterfly who loves attention and snuggles.

🤍 Pecan (gray & white, female) is just as sweet but a little more reserved. She takes time to warm up, preferring to observe before jumping into new situations. She’s a gentle soul—a true wallflower—but with her brother’s confidence by her side, she blossoms.

🍿🐶 Happy National Popcorn Day! Can Your Pet Join the Celebration? 🐾🐱

January 19th is National Popcorn Day, and while we humans love munching on this crunchy snack during movie nights, you might be wondering—can our furry friends enjoy popcorn too? Let’s break it down!

🍿 Pros of Feeding Popcorn to Pets:

✅ Plain, Air-Popped Popcorn is Safe! A small amount of plain, unsalted, and unbuttered popcorn can be a fun, low-calorie treat for dogs.
✅ A Good Source of Fiber & Antioxidants (but only in small amounts).
✅ Light & Crunchy! Some pets love the texture and enjoy catching it mid-air as a game!

🚫 Cons of Feeding Popcorn to Pets:

❌ Butter, Salt & Flavored Popcorn are a No-Go! These can lead to digestive upset, dehydration, and even pancreatitis.
❌ Hard Kernels = Choking Hazard! Unpopped or partially popped kernels can get stuck in teeth, pose a choking risk, or cause stomach issues.
❌ Not a Nutritional Necessity. While fun, popcorn doesn’t provide essential nutrients your pet needs, so it should only be an occasional treat.

🐶🐱 Should You Share?

If you want to share the fun with your pet, stick to a few pieces of plain, air-popped popcorn as a treat. Always monitor for allergies or digestive issues, and avoid giving it to pets with sensitive stomachs.

📣 Meet Echo! The Chatty, Cuddly Frenchie Looking for His Forever Home! 🐾💙
