Mr. Nugget is officially big enough and his fleece full enough to go out in the main pasture full time with his mama Libby, Aunty Rosie and the rest the girls.
He is absolutely loving it and the vet is very pleased with his progress. However, he will likely have to come inside for a couple months during the worst parts of this upcoming winter, but other than that, he is finally ready to have a normal life with the herd. ❤️🦙
Mr. Chicken Nugget has reached 17.8lbs this evening! In addition, his special winter cria coat has arrived. Considering we will be having a week of slightly warmer weather, Mr. Nugget will be joining his mama and aunty Rosie in the mini pastures for a few hours each day to help him integrate into the big girls herd. He is loving every second of it and has endless zoomies!❤️🦙
Today was Mr. Chicken Nugget’s first out door play time/meet the herd session since the day he was born. He is having a ball as he runs, jumps, plays and chases butterflies around the small winter pens. He reached 13.2lbs this afternoon. ❤️🦙
Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for your weekly Chicken Nugget update!
Over the last 48 hours, Mr. Nugget has increased his daily weight growth from 0.2lbs to 0.4lbs reaching an amazing 12lbs on the dot early this morning. He is very energetic, playing and thriving in every way. As the weather clears up this weekend, it’s looking like he will finally be getting some herd interactions, albeit supervised for an hour or so at a time.
We want to thank everyone for their love, support, thoughts and prayers as Mr. Nugget has made a remarkable turn around in a very brief period of time. ❤️🦙
Last night while we had our steam locomotive #7 fired up, Mr. Chicken Nugget took his first train ride! He was very curious, not nervous at all and had a wonderful time on the short ride. He then insisted on getting a little love and cuddles from his Aunty Tina who was running the engine.
Other than a couple of small projects such as some minor adjustments to the engineer’s side (right side) cylinder cocks, reattaching the loco’s “cowcatcher” style pilot and wiring up the engine’s headlight, steam locomotive #7 (the Holly Marie) is ready to roll for this holiday season. Stay tuned here to our page for some exciting updates!
Yesterday afternoon/evening our two operational coal fired steam locomotives were fired up for their final steam tests in preparation of our fall and Christmas holiday special events.
Both locomotives performed very well and made for an impressive display of steam and steel that the Fossilville/Hyndman area has not seen in decades as history came alive again in the Allegheny Mountain valley surrounding Buffalo Mills, Pa!
L.W.C. Steam Loco Fleet
A quick look at the grand scale coal fired live steam locomotives owned and operated by Little Wills Creek Ranch, LLC. Some of these locomotive are either awaiting or undergoing restoration/heavy overhaul while others are currently in operation as they await their public debut. Our oldest steam locomotive was built in 1953 and the newest in 2022.
Steam locomotive #2
A second evening of completely successful steam tests for our British built steam locomotive #2!
Engine #2 ran under her own power for the first time on American soil this evening, albeit on a very short section of panel track. After the second successful test fire in the last week, it’s time for steam locomotive #7 to get a little extra TLC. It won’t be long before both steamers are ready for special public events later in the year. ❤️🚂
We are so excited to have this absolutely stunning masterpiece of model making and engineering that we will be able to share with the general public in the not too distant future.
In the meantime, we would like to share with y’all this great video of the HO scale layout in action that was generously sent to us from the layout’s previous owner Adam Pomeranz of the BrassBasement.com, so that we can give everyone a little taste of what’s to come at the Ranch later this year.
Steam locomotive #2
Our beautiful British steam locomotive #2 had a successful first test fire last night. For the first time in several decades, the sounds of a genuine coal burning steam locomotive echoed off the hills and valleys of Fossilville/Buffalo Mills just outside Hyndman, Pa.
