A super easy way to work on hind end awareness!
🐾This exercise can help introduce hind end awareness work if you don’t know where to start.
🐾 This exercise can help increase speed. Especially for obedience work when needing to sit, down, stand in motion.
Alls you need is some sort of thin mat. Make sure it feels different from the floor. (Example: use yoga mat on carpet. Use bath mat on hardwood.)
Clicker and/or marker word so you can communicate to your dog that they are doing it right !
Start with you both close to the mat. You can start by luring your dog onto the mat in front of you until only their back feet are on. Mark and reward by tossing their treat BEHIND them. This is an important part. You want them always coming towards you over the mat. Once it seems like your dog is getting the idea, start to increase your distance you throw the treat and/or you back up away from the mat.
Once your dog has nailed his, try to get the duration of them standing with their back feet on before rewarding and tossing the treat.
This seems very basic but it is SUCH a fun and easy engagement exercise for your dog to introduce their rear end.

Domino and mom have worked SO HARD on getting this footing down. Domino has received rehabilitation and vet care due to an old injury in his hind leg that happened before mom adopted him. The injury healed wrong but orthopedic specialists told mom that surgery would make things worse at this point. Domino has been THRIVING over the last few years and mom does everything she can to keep him in amazing shape!

Side stepping !!
Have you ever tried this exercise with your pup?? It is an amazing exercise to work abduction and addiction of all limbs, increase coordination and overall footwork! As your dog gets the hang of this exercise, you can start to make it more challenging by having them walk over obstacles!
Key points: Make sure your pet can get this down before going over objects. Don’t push too much too fast! You can guide them with a treat in order to keep their chin nice and parallel to the ground. You can then use your other hand to help keep the back straight.
Give it a try and tag us in your videos!

Our first ever fitness hike! We traveled down to Lockport nature trails for some exercise. First, we did a warm up as a group. Then we got into our hike where we worked on activities that will increase your bond with your dog, increase confidence, and make it more challenging! At the end, we worked on a cool down as a group. I can’t wait for the next one! I will post on here when it will be!
You know you bad when you can post on any obstacles 😏🙃😅🐾💪🏻
Just a few pups that I worked on Friday and Sunday at the HABOC AKC trial at PDS this weekend! I worked on many others that I didn’t get photos of! (Sorry! ♥️) Thank you for trusting me to work on your amazing dogs! 🐾♥️💪🏻
Great job everyone!
