This week’s Seneca Star is Drake! He is 10 month old pit pup who is looking for his forever home. He is a playful well rounded dog. He is dog social and cat friendly, loves people and is housebroken and crate trained. He’s a peanut at just 35 pounds. Drake’s soecial need is that he has megaesophagus.
Megaesophagus is a congenital condition in which the dog does not have the ability to swallow food or water properly. I know this sounds extremely complicated but with a little bit of help not only has Drake learned how to eat properly and keep his food down, but he is also gained weight and is thriving and able to live a normal life.

Drake is on medication to help assist this problem, but most important key is that he needs to be fed in an elevated position. With some training, Drake has learned quickly the best way for him to eat and keep his food down. A schedule is very important to his routine for success. He is fully vetted and ready to go.

This week’s Seneca Star is Sadie Rose! This sweet lady that is just 6 years young and you be your next BFF! Unfortunately, Sadie Rose was surrendered by owners to the shelter recently. She is shy and sweet with the volunteers and seems to be a bit confused as to what is happening. Sadie would love to quickly find a home of her own where she can feel secure again.
Sadie did well with other dogs in her initial assessments at the shelter.
Her stunning black and white locks do require frequent brushing and grooming to keep that stunning style.

This week’s Seneca Star is Regina! She will be at with her pals from today from 4-6PM! She could be your next BFF! Regina is about 2-3 yrs of age, and she is on the more petite side with a brindle coat that needs a bit of TLC. We feel that Regina would benefit from a quiet place to call her own which she is hoping for in her new home.

She does know “sit”, takes treats nicely and likes to take walks in the neighborhood. She really doesn’t like the chaos of shelter life and we do not want the stress to get to her. This lady is going to be very happy once she finds her home so she can share her sweetness with her new human best friend and lounge happily in a dog bed made just for her. She loves to get attention and love, especially with reassurance that she is being a lovely lady.

She will also appreciate time to decompress, relax and bond with her new human best friend. She has a playful side to her as well, and is up for learning more things once in a home. Volunteers have been taking her on adventures which helps, but ultimately, nothing is better than going back to a house instead of the shelter.

She passed her initial dog/dog assessment but we always require a meet and greet with any resident dog in a home.

This week’s Seneca Star is Morgan! Come meet her at this Wed after her spa day at . Morgan may be your next BFF… her pals from the can help make that happen! She is a sweet and mellow 2-year-old girl who’s as gentle as can be-medium-sized dog that loves car rides, a nice bath and being told how beautiful she is!

Morgan appears housebroken, knows her basic commands, and has a calm, quiet nature. . We haven’t heard her bark yet!

She passed her dog assessment and prefers a laid-back vibe over high-energy play—it’s totally okay to be the calm one in the group!

We’re still unsure how she feels about cats, but one thing’s for sure—Morgan adores people and can’t wait to meet you. If you’re looking for a snuggly, low-key companion, Morgan might just be your perfect match.

This week’s Seneca Star is Lydia! This little pocket pittie will make you say “aww” the second you meet her! Meet her today with her people from the after her spa day at 4PM at !

With her adorable jowls and sweet little wrinkles, you might even suspect there’s a bit of bulldog in her. . Lydia is the kind of girl who would much rather snuggle in your lap all day than go for a walk. Once she bonds with you, she becomes a little shadow, gazing up with those soulful eyes and melting your heart with every look.

At around two to three years old and just under 40 pounds, she’s the perfect compact size for all the love she’s ready to give.

Lydia walks beautifully on a leash, taking in the sights at her own pace, and while she’s a bit shy in playgroups, she’s has been appropriate with other dogs though she’d rather hang with her human for some good ol’ pets .

Lydia is waiting in the shelter, and while it’s loud and busy here, what she truly needs is a quiet home with a soft bed where she can curl up and feel safe.
