Lazy Rocking R Horses

Lazy Rocking R Horses The Helferich family's goal is to find a horse that will work for you and they will do whatever they can to accomplish their mission.

The Helferich family has been working with horses for a combined 100 years, honing their individual skills and knowledge in various ways. Randy was a young man looking for the life he saw on the magazine pages of “Western Horseman”, “Field and Stream”, as well as during family trips to Wyoming from his birth state of Minnesota. Bound and determined to leave, he went to Arizona with his father and

remained there on his own when his dad returned home. Randy found one way or another to get horseback and learned from some of the bronc busting outlaws in the strings of several ranches of the western United States. The more he was beat up, the more he learned about himself and horses. He developed the patience and skills to give even the renegade a chance to change. Randy feels God has given him many opportunities to learn and grow and he tries to apply that same shot to the horses he trains. As a young New England girl, Julia developed a love and connection with horses at a very early age. She began her horse career in English equitation and jumping under professional instructors. Julia then went on to earn a degree in Animal Science from the University of New Hampshire. A move to Wyoming after college opened her eyes to the western ranch way of life and a whole new type of horse and riding experience. “Studying, learning and evaluating a horse’s abilities, what they naturally are good at doing and working with each one then finding someone to appreciate them for what they are is important part of matching horse and rider,” states Julia. After meeting Randy, Julia realized how important it was to match a horse and rider together the same way God brought her and Randy together, “slowly at first but then once you see the connection just let things go, they’ll make things work by themselves”. Staci’s first horseback experience was before her own recall. Checking, gathering and moving cattle in the Big Horn Mountains attached to her mom in the front of the saddle, she experienced much at a young age. Soon enough, she grew to be able to ride on her own and her dad put her on Tiger, a stubborn, clever and safe little mule. The duo explored the mountains and valleys together, jumping high over pint-sized creeks and loping sure-footed along mountain trails. She began working with larger horses as her abilities grew. As of now, she is enjoying her time growing up surrounded by the beautiful animals God blessed her with. Staci is turning into a confident knowledgeable horsewoman; she is constantly gaining experience in handling and riding skills by riding a variety of horses on the ranch, and in the mountains. At Lazy Rocking R Horses, the Helferich family wants to give every horse a chance to make the perfect partner for someone.
