Meet Mercer!! He won't hear your cries of adoration though, as this blue eyed beauty is deaf, which is actually common with all white kitties!💕💕😸
Mercer is an older kitten, about 9-10 months old, and was found a few months ago hiding under a bus. 🚌 The folks who found him were happy to foster Mercer and get the little guy healthy, but unfortunately cannot keep him.
He was FIV tested negative, dewormed, and flea treated and is going for his neuter and vaccines tomorrow! He will be available for adoption after he recovers from surgery.
A little more about his purrrrrsonality...
He is a love. ❣️😻❣️ He will love on any and all people near him, and takes no time to make himself comfy in new situations. He is comfortable with other cats and small dogs. He has not been around children, but we believe his playful and laid back energy would do well in a home with older children as well. We say older children because deaf kitties can startle easier if snuck up on as they cannot hear your coming, so very young children who can't understand that may not be the best choice.

Hey folks! We've been quiet for a bit while we've been working with a very special girl who we think is now adoption ready 💕😻
Who remembers Winnie from the Cafe? This beautiful chonk came into the Cafe as a former stray in July last year. She was about 2 years old then and loved loved belly rubs and lounging on the big ottoman we had in the Lounge. She was recently returned to us, through no fault of her own, and is looking for a home to call her own again.
She is now about 3-4 years old, but still our sweet chonky girl. 🐈 She loves loves humans and will invite herself right up onto your lap or chest for snuggles. She still is an independent lady though who enjoys taking long naps near you, but not on you. Great mix of snuggle and subtle! 😸💤🤗
When she came back to us, she was very uncomfortable around other cats as she had been living as a solo cat since she was adopted. While she's never chased or attacked anyone here, she did hiss quite a bit. We have been working with her, very slowly, and she has made amazing strides!
That being said, she does still hiss from time to time and prefers when our cats here leave her alone. She now will share the human bed with other cats, but is still a little uneasy with them coming up to her. But we are seeing improvements every day! She now lets the cats brush up on her occasionally and spends most of her time free roaming without any issues, aside from the occasional passing hiss.
She has also has met our dogs and is fine with the little one coming right up to her and sniffing her! 🐕❣️❣️
After our time with working with Winnie, she obviously would do great as a solo cat, but we do think it is possible for her to do well and be happy in a home with other cats. Given that those cats are also low key like Winnie and the family is patient and has cat experience, understanding how to slowly introduce a cat-shy kitty.

Everyone, say hello to Milo. Milo was brought to us yesterday by a lovely couple who found him on a local farm. They brought him into their care after discovering that Milo had lost his mother and was all alone, living in a barn
Don't let that "barn cat" persona fool you, though. Milo has been living amongst the people for 2 months and has become the sweetest, most loving little purr machine. And, oh does he purr. While eating, sleeping, walking around or... using the litterbox.
He's off to see the the folks at Operation PETS to get him adoption ready. Keep an eye out on us for more updates on Milo.

Bob and Teddy found their furrever homes yesterday!!
It looks like they've already made themselves comfortable.
While it was a very bittersweet moment for us, we're glad that they have found such a loving family that took them in with open arms.
We will miss their little chirps as they run through the house. We'll miss their mad dashes across many rooms when they realize they're about to get fed. All in all, we will just miss their presence. But, we know that they will bring joy and entertainment to their new family!
Thank you to Annie and her wonderful family for adopting them and keeping these two wild brothers together! We know they will be a great addition to your family and you will be a great addition to theirs!

Congrats to Luigi on finding his furrever home! While we only had him with us for a week, he was an absolute joy to have here and he will be missed ❤️. But we know he is going to live his best life with his new parents and kitty sister, Mango and are so happy for him!
This marks the first official adoption since closing the cafe, and we are so grateful to be keeping our rescue dreams and efforts alive. ❤️😺❤️

They will be going home after their surgery and a couple days of recovery to a wonderful family here in Buffalo. The kittens LOVED playing with the kids, and we are so thrilled they found a loving home together.
Congrats Teddy and Bob, Papa Michael and I will miss you, but we know you will be living your best life and are so happy for you 💕. We'll just have to enjoy the heck out of the time we have left with you!!

Meet Luigi!
This handsome man came to us last night, thanks to the aide of a lovely helper of cats in need, as a surrender.
*He is about 8 months old and fully vetted, and ready to find his furrever home! *
My husband and I started him in the condo to acclimate, but he was so friendly and wanting to cuddle, we brought him in the room last night and this morning for snuggles ❤️
He's very playful, sweet, and did well seeing the other cats through the condo 😍 we're waiting for him to feel more settled before we try full introductions to the other cats and our doggos, but from what we've seen so far, we think he'll do great!

We're hoping to find them a home together, but are willing to separate as long as they are going to homes with other social animals. They are very friendly, borderline clingy, to other animals and humans.
They both get along well with dogs and cats, use the litter box well, are healthy and incredibly social. They will be around 5-6 lbs by the time they are fixed and ready to go. Their surgery is January 17th, they'll be ready to go home shortly after!
We can arrange a time to meet and greet for APPROVED adopters only. We are doing this out of our home now, so we are trying to keep the visits minimal.

Hey everyone, we've been quiet for a bit on social media as we cleared out the Cafe, continue to grieve, and try to recoup from this emotional loss. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
On a more positive note, we've had some little fluffs my husband and I are fostering at home that have been bringing us so much joy!
😺😺***We aren't ready for applications yet as they will not be fixed and ready until mid January, but we wanted to introduce you to them! ***😺😺
Teddy and Bob (Bob's Burgers reference lol!) were brought to the cafe one of the last days we were open by someone from the neighborhood. They were thrown onto this person's lawn in a carrier with a wet Nike shirt and large pieces of what looked like dog kibble. They were about 3-4 weeks old, infested with fleas, and hypothermic.
We immediately gave them dawn baths to get rid of the fleas, then warmed them up, and brought them to an emergency vet.
For the first week, we weren't sure about Bob's future, he had terrible diarrhea and was not gaining weight. With the help of the wonderful folks at Summer Street Cat Clinic and a lot of hard work at home, he made a full recovery and has been doing amazing for well over a month!
These boys are everything. They are sweet, curious, cuddly, playful. They love people, cats, and dogs both big and small. They are wonderful and we are so grateful to have them with us until we find their furrever homes.
****We will post with a link for the application within the next couple weeks, and they will be ready to go home January 20th, fully vetted with microchips.****
We're going to try to get them a home together, but if go separately, we will insist their new home has at least one friendly, preferably young cat at home. They are very social and wouldn't do well as an only cat.

To our loyal customers, supporters and friends,
Wow! What a ride this has been. I have struggled mightily trying to put my emotions into words that can accurately express the mix of sadness, pride, and gratitude that I feel as I write this final message to all of you. I can only hope to do some justice to the immense impact you all have had on the Purrfect family and all of the furry friends we have been able to help along our journey.
Purrfect Cafe has been struggling since COVID turned all of our worlds upside down, and the current economic climate has made our continued operations economically untenable. Despite the best efforts of the Purrfect team, we must face an unfortunate reality - the time has come to close our doors. While we had hoped to continue our mission as a cat rescue, that option is similarly unfeasible at this time. Purrfect was my life for the past five yeras.
Much time and though has gone into this decision, it was not made lightly. While I am devastated to have to close this chapter, I remain proud of what we have accomplished, and eternally grateful for the help and support that we received from each and every one of you.
I opened Purrfect Cafe in August of 2018 with a single mission - save cats, and save cats we did! Since we opened our doors, we have facilitated the adoption of 763 cats, many of whom had special needs, were elderly, or were bonded pairs. That's 763 lives that were made better because of the work of our staff, volunteers, and the support of all of you. I am so so proud of this accomplishment, and you should be, also. Additionally, we had the privilege of working with many local rescues, as well as local artists, entrepreneurs, and fellow small business owners. From tarot card readings to trivia, from burlesque shows and bingo to yoga and craft nights, we were welcomed by the Hertel community, and I like to think we left our own special mark on Buffalo, as well. Over the last 4 years, we had the pleasure of serving tens of thousands of visitors, hosting private parties, and even a Valentine's Day proposal!
I plan to continue the work of finding homes for cats with my husband, but on a much smaller scale. While Purrfect is no more, we hope to continue helping kitties and finding them their furrever homes by fostering at home. We will be taking a small break from social media while we collect ourselves, mourn this loss, and reset our lives, but we intend to keep the Purrfect page going - not only to help find our fosters loving homes, but to also share and support information for other local rescues. Our hope is to continue to support our local cat community in any way we can. Please continue to follow us for updates on the future of Purrfect, including our fosters that will be available for adoption, and information on other local rescues and their adoptable cats.
Lastly, I want to thank all of you, our friends and supporters, for the profound impact that you have had on my life and the lives of the 763 cats that we saved together.

HOW IT WORKS:
-Entrance Fee for the Cat Cafe: $8/hour per person or $5/half hour offered to walkins
-Reservations are highly recommended to ensure you do not come during a time we are at capacity or at a time we are holding an event
-Children 7 years and younger are ONLY accepted during designated Children’s Hours. Children’s Hours run every Sunday from 11 AM - 12 PM or are accepted Tuesday - Friday between 12 PM - 5 PM.
-Cafe drinks and baked goods may be carried over into the Cat Lounge to enjoy during your time. No outside food or drink will be permitted.
-Please leave personal pets at home. We provide the cats, you come and enjoy their company!
-All visitors must fill out waiver upon their first visit. To save time the day of your reservation, you can fill it out ahead of time on our website. Minors (18 and younger) must have a parent or guardian fill the waiver out for them ahead of time.
-Children 15 and younger require a parent or guardian to attend with them to supervise.
-Please arrive early or on time for your reservations. If busy, reservations will be held for no more than 15 minutes before you will forfeit your spot for any walk-ins that are present.
What is a Cat Cafe?
We're glad you asked! A Cat Cafe is a Purrfect combination of coffee shop with the added bonus of cats! Purrfect Cafe & Gallery is a unique place visitors come to grab a drink and pet some cats in a relaxing and comfortable environment.
Our space is sectioned into two separate areas - on one side is our Cat Lounge, on the other is our Cafe. The Cafe side currently offers a range of drinks including coffee, tea, smoothies, espresso drinks and more! We also offer pastries and baked goods supplied by local bakers. Our Cat Lounge side typically houses 10 cats at any given time and can accommodate 15 guests.
The Cat Lounge provides a cozy and colorful space for people to enjoy a drink in, maybe a good book and the company of cats! We have partnered with Ten Lives Club Cat Rescue & Adoption Group to bring in some kitties in need that are looking for their furever homes. We act as a foster and house these cats until they are able to find a family all their own. The entrance fee ($8/hr per person) allows us to stay in business and provide a cage-free environment for these cats to reside in until they catch their big break and get adopted!
We love promoting local business and artwork so we have also partnered with a number of talented artists and crafters to make their work available for purchase here! You can browse artwork, pick up hand made cat toys or some cat swag during your visit! A Purrfect place to check out the local Buffalo Cat Art scene!
Reservations for the cat lounge are encouraged. Walk-ins are accepted when space is available. Reservations are highly recommended to ensure you do not come at a time we are at capacity or holding an event. Reservations can be made right on our website:
