We are discontinuing Bil-Jac frozen food because we no longer have a warehouse willing to keep it for us in Buffalo. We currently have about 50 cases left. I think the remaining stock will go fast. Sorry about this but frozen warehouse space is rare in Buffalo.

Unfortunately, Zero didn’t make it at his new place. It doesn’t seem like an issue with him so I ‘m hoping someone who noticed him before will still have an interest. He’s back with good-deed-doing Wanda but can’t stay since she already has four. If you have an interest, please call me at the pet store, 716–8 83–1377. I’m easily confused here. Thanks.

It’s been a long time since I’ve put anything up on Elmwood Pet’s Facebook. I should be using it to promote my business, but I’d much rather promote Zero, the pitbull. A customer of mine needs help trying to find a better living situation for this one year-old boy. He showed up at the store today and quickly proved himself quite the charmer. Unfortunately, most of his time is spent in a crate in a home that very much wants him gone.
A good deed-doing dog trainer customer of ours, Kim Ocasio, has volunteered a free $750 training program to get things off to a good start. From what we know, he is good with cats and from the little experience we’ve had so far, he really wants to play with dogs. We do not want to send them into the overcrowded shelter systems of Western New York. I’m not much for Facebook, but anybody who wants to know more can call me at the store. Thanks, Tom.

We wanted to let anyone who uses Victor pet food to know there’s been a recall of all of their products for a possible Salmonella contamination. If you have any, please return it to the store. I thought this photo of Boulevard, making his presence known at the counter, would get the message noticed.

I thought everyone who knew him could use a look a Bo this morning. Apparently, I was wrong about the travel ban being lifted. We will be opening anyway, so hopefully some people can get to the store on foot.

Since Friday, only our employee and neighbor Tess’s dog, Maisy, has been able to prep for the big event. Here she is sporting her new onesie and boots to be the base layer under her storm coat. With the prospect of the travel ban being lifted, Elmwood Pet will be opening at 10 AM tomorrow. Check our hours tomorrow since we don’t know how long our workday will be.

A new batch of cat furniture is available at the store this week. I think most customers don’t even know we have these things. Beatrise, the Georgia manufacturer, makes the best we’ve found. Saxford, the store cat, is delighted.

After a several month hiatus from Facebook, I’m back to promote our line of Ukrainian dog toys. We are pleased to be able to support a Ukrainian business and we are currently donating all proceeds from their sale to UAnimals, a Ukrainian animal rescue group now focusing on the homeless pets from the war. I asked my friend from the dog toy company, Vadym, for his recommendation and this is the one he suggested. It’s a good cause and they’re pretty good toys, too. I’m hoping they will be able to send us more stuff, including collars to help Buffalo pets support Ukraine.

a tricky business. These inexpensive balloon-like boots are great at protecting their feet from salt and ice, They come in packs of 12 so if you lose one you can replace it. While they are a bit of a challenge to get on, they do allow you and your dog to get out and have some fun in the snow.

Fleece sweaters can really help dogs stay warm as we turn our thermostats down.
With natural gas prices twice as high as they where at this time last year, keeping our homes comfortable comes with a much higher price tag. Many pet owners are compelled to keep the the temp high enough for their dogs to be comfortable. These fleece pullovers can allow us to turn the heat down while keeping the hounds comfortable.
