Chance is doing AMAZING in our rehab program.
This sweet boy is being fostered through @nickelcitycaninerescue and had a rough start before they found him! Chance had surgery performed on his hip and it did not go exactly as planned. He won’t let that get him down though! He is the sweetest and most confident little man. He has taken great strides (no pun intended 😝) over the last few weeks and we know he will have a bright future ahead of him!
Chance is up for adoption through @nickelcitycaninerescue. Before considering adopting him, know that he will have a lifetime of care due to his disability. Rehab will be an on and off thing for him along with proper at home care for his joints.

Say hello to Zeek! This handsome boy is a new addition to our rehab family. He has a carpal injury and some kind end stiffness. Our goal is to get him back to a much more active life style like this boy loves! Time to get to work. Today was his first session and he rocked it! 💪🏻
Rudy is a recent addition to our NCAH rehab family! This handsome and sassy boy comes in for IVDD (intervertebral disc disease) that has been caught early! Mom brings Rudy in to keep up with his coordination and strength in his back end. Great work Rudy!
Welcome baby Zoe to the NCAH family!! 😍♥️🐾
Friday night feels, featuring Spur!💕 This beauty belongs to technician Nicole
Sasha received PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) injections into both of her stifles (knees) a couple weeks ago. She had cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) surgery on one of her knees and started to develop some disease of the ligament in the other.
This 10 year old girl is recovering SO WELL! The video that you see is only a week apart from when the injections were done.
The photo of her standing unassisted (without the green band) is from her rehab session after her injections! One week post injections and she is weight bearing so much more!!! We are so thrilled with the outcome of her procedure.
We have been performing a lot more PRP injections at our hospital because of how much success we are having!
Plasma Rich Protein therapy is pretty simple! We take cells from the patient’s body (via blood draw) and use those cells to help with healing and inflammation. Once we pull the cells out from the blood that we need, we then inject them back into your pet at the injured site. It’s really that simple! We use the pet’s body to heal itself! What more can you ask for??
PRP can help with arthritis, tendonitis, gingivitis, ligament injuries, wound healing, and much more!
If you think your pet could benefit from PRP therapy, give us a call at 716-847-1000!
Sebastian is new to our rehab family!
He has been seeing Dr. Lyden for acupuncture for quite some time though. He is no stranger to our clinic! 😍❤️
This handsome little dude has IVDD (intervertebral disc disease). He had surgery awhile back and mom just wants to make sure he stays in the best shape that he can! Between acupuncture with Dr. Lyden and rehabilitation with technician, Leah, he has been doing amazing!
Keep up the great work mom and Sebastian! 🐾❤️
We have been pulling WAYYY too many ticks off our patients lately!
Ticks are in our area friends! They may be tiny, but they are fierce! If you find a tick on your pet and choose to remove it at home, make sure that you remove the ENTIRE thing. The head/mouth of the tick buries into the skin in order to latch on to your pet. If you just rip it off, you risk leaving the mouth parts behind and causing infection. You want to twist and pull gently to get the mouth out.
If you swipe, you can see the entire tick with all of its mouth parts intact. This is what you should still see after removing it from your pet. If you do not, contact the office for further instructions.
If your pet had been exposed to a tick, it is important to test for tick borne diseases! Most of the ticks in our area carry diseases such as Lyme, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma. Testing is done with a 4DX snap test about 6 weeks post tick exposure. We can run them right in hospital and you will get results in 8 minutes!
We recommend keeping your pets on prevention all year round. There is no flea and tick (or heartworm) “season”. They are always out and about and ticks can live in any weather over 30 degrees Fahrenheit. If you have questions about which prevention might be best for your pet, contact the office at 847-1000!❤️🐾
CHALLENGE # 28
Roll over!
If your pet can’t do this one, let’s see your attempts! 😝❤️🐾
CHALLENGE #20
Obstacle course
Time to mix it up, be creative and have some fun!
We want you and your pup to do an obstacle course! You can use anything around the house that you would like! Try to use at least 3-4 objects (or more if you want!). You can use things that are hard, soft, stable, things that more or whatever you want!
We can’t wait to see what you come up with! Have fun!
CHALLENGE # 16
Today’s challenge is: under/crawl
Try to get your pet to crawl under something! (Safely of course!!) If you don’t have something for them to crawl under you could use a tunnel or even just try to have them army crawl across the floor!
Tips: Start with the object high so they can walk under it, then bring it lower and lower until they have to crawl! They will get the hang of it!
Have fun!!
