My name is Jacki Christman I started this page to showcase the family ranch. They raise cattle and horses. Dennis(Dad), Claudia(Mom), and Jet Price are the owners of the ranch and full time workers. They work side by side on a daily basis(not sure who I feel most sorry for). Jet does get off the ranch to rodeo, he rides ba****ck horses. Dad enters a few team ropings through out the summer. ided to find a different hobby and bought a couple of kayaks. My older sister Joey and her husband JW Moore try to come home during calving and any time that is needed. She is a teacher in WY so she is able to take a pile of horses in the summer and start them around the barrels and roping. JW also starts some young horses for the ranch. My younger sister Josi Price is working as an account manager in the oil field country in North Dakota. She takes some time off during calving season to come home to help and makes it home when needed. She stays real busy and only takes up a couple of horses at a time and starts them on the barrels and ropes a little with them. I live outside of Hettinger, ND with my husband Jordan and our son Cahan, we farm and ranch. I make it home as often as possible and do have a couple of horses with me at all times. I don't get in the arena as much as I want but who does. Joey is going to add pictures and videos at times and I will do the same.

Bred heifers selling November 20 at Belle Fourche Livestock Auction. Start calving mid March done in 20 days. Home raised bred to easy calving Schiefelbein Farms bulls with great genetics. For more information call Dennis 605-375-3481 or Jet 605-641-5139

Video from Sunday 10-15-23. Price Ranch shipping steer calves. We gathered, sorted, hauled, weighed, and loaded these big steer calves from three separate bunches all before noon. Good crew from start to finish. This year the average age is quite a bit lower and will continue in that trend as the grandkids keep helping. It was a beautiful and successful day.

Side note: I asked if I could borrow a horse for the weekend. They brought out a very pretty red roan. Nevada is a 5 year old mare. She was so much fun to ride, went hard for two days and never showed signs of wanting to quit or any orneriness. She is for sale but not on sale😉. Call or text Jet for any questions-605-641-5139. I believe they would winter her and put another month of riding on her in the spring if someone rather not get her before winter. I could get more pictures of her and her papers if anyone wanted them.

“One last count”

Dad counting steers calves through the last gate. From spring to fall cattle are counted through gates. This is the last pasture gate these calves will see at the Price Ranch, tomorrow they will be shipped to a feedlot. Another year gone!

Dad bought a new mare at Bowman Livestock Fall Horse sale. She is bred to be fast and has the looks to go with her speed. Excited to see what her future holds.

Last week was a busy and hot week working cattle. All the calves received their late summer vaccines and cows were ultrasounded. For seven days in a row it was up before the sun to get cattle gathered and in before the heat hit. Citti and I were able to help on the last two days. Video of the first day we helped.

Due to the glorious rain the team roping for tomorrow August 6th will be moved to Buffalo’s arena. Still enter at noon and rope at 1pm and BBQ to follow. For questions call 605-375-3481. Please spread the word!

Food preparation for branding

5-7-2022 Tomorrow is the third and final day of branding, will also be the biggest day. It takes hours of preparation to get ready to brand from setting up panels to getting food prepared. Here is a little clip of some of the food my mom had made to feed a crew of 20-40 people(never know for sure who is going to show up😆). More food will be made tomorrow while she is watching a pile of grandkids. Mothers are the best and need to be told daily! Btw tomorrow is also Mother’s Day and I guess we are celebrating by branding calves🥳.
