Foster Love, Change Lives - Foster Homes Needed

As we all recover from the holiday season and look ahead to a new year, many of us think about how we can make a difference. One often overlooked yet incredibly impactful opportunity is fostering animals in need.

Fostering is a less permanent commitment than adoption, but it still allows you to make a huge difference in the lives of dogs and cats searching for their permanent homes. By opening your home to an animal in need, you provide them with the safe, loving environment they need to heal, grow, or receive extra care while they wait for their adopting families. It's also a great opportunity for individuals or families who aren’t currently ready to adopt but still want the experience of having a pet in their lives.

When you foster, you help animals build trust, regain confidence, and adapt to living in a home environment. You'll also help them become more socialized, which greatly improves their chances of finding a permanent home. It's a truly rewarding experience, knowing that you've played a key role in their journey to a better life.

Crossroads provides all necessary supplies including food any needed medical care, you supply the home, time & love.

🎶There's no place like home for the holidays! And that's what we want for all of the animals in our care -- especially this time of year. In the spirit of the holidays, this weekend we will be offering a temporary reduction of adoption fees for all animals in shelter. Please like and share to spread the word and some holiday cheer!

Despite the chilly weather, we had an amazing time at Photos with Santa this past Wednesday evening! There are still openings available tomorrow, 12/14, and Sunday, 12/15, from 8:00 AM to 11:45 AM. You can register online, or feel free to walk in. Each sitting includes 2 digital images of you and your pet to celebrate the holidays. Don't miss out on this festive opportunity!

Season's Greetings, everyone!

We are excited to announce that Crossroads will again this year have our Christmas Giving Tree in the Clinic and Adoption Lobby starting Thursday, December 5, 2024 -January 2nd 2025. This year, as in years past, the Giving Tree is dedicated to gathering in-kind donations for our shelter animals. These donations play a crucial role in supporting our animals throughout the year.

Some of the most needed items include: clay cat litter, Retreiver rolls, food and water dishes, collars, Benebones, cat toys, dog toys

Meet Diesel, he is a very sweet boy! He is silly, quirky, and doesn't quite realize his size yet at 1.5 years old. He knows how to sit and shake, walks well on a leash, and is potty trained.
In his previous home, the resident cat was his best friend and snuggle buddy. Diesel has lived well with children 9-12 years old and another dog. He was a little shy when he first arrived with the other dogs in the kennel and has settled in. He is looking for a family to make him their best boy.
Diesel is sterilized, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations. He was surrendered because of allergies of the owner in his previous home.

Goal number six in 2025 is to expand our storage facilities on site. With so many new and expanding programs, space is at a premium at Crossroads. We would like to add a new storage building on the property for all of the food, supplies, and equipment that we need. This would also allow us to better use our existing space to maximize efficiency for our animals and our team. A new building is a big spend, but this would be another huge step forward. This addition of more space will also lay the framework for even more ideas in the future! Help us to invest in our future!

Goal number five in 2025 is to create the Crossroads Pet Shop! This wonderful idea involves offering low-cost supplies, toys, and food to help all members of our community get what they need for their furry family members. Every pet deserves to have what they need, and some pet owners need assistance making that happen. This will be an expansion of our current food shelf program, and we need more space to store and sell the supplies. Help us expand our food shelf program!

Calling all Animal Lovers! With sincere gratitude from our staff and our animals, we thank all the animal lovers who contributed to our new furnaces. The amount of community support that rallied for us in our time of need was astonishing! A special call out to A&A Heating and Air Conditioning in Buffalo, MN – a family business of animal lovers that took great care of us! Two new furnaces have been installed – one for our shelter and one for our community clinic. The support we received almost covered all expenses. We are warm. The animals are comfortable! We are all grateful.

Good morning Animal Lovers! Sergeant First Class Marvin Thomas from the US Army Recruiting Buffalo, MN is back! MEET Dolly An 8-month old Austrailian Shepard mix, Dolly is a silly, quirky, fun girl. If you are active and like adventures, Dolly would be a the perfect companion for you. She loves to play and walk – she likes all people, and she did well when introduced to dogs in the shelter.
