The NGVS team is SO happy to see Ranger do so well and get back to what he loves!

"To all the staff at North GA Veterinary Specialists:

Just over 10 months ago we arrived at your facility around 9 pm on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Our day had started with plans for celebration with family (a bit off schedule due to two nurses in the family having to work holidays). At 11:54 that morning my husband called me from the back yard saying he believed our Ranger had broken his leg while playing ball. As it turned out, Ranger actually had a FCE. We were fortunate enough to be close to an emergency animal clinic with a vet who was familiar with FCE. She quickly recognized the need for Ranger to be transferred to a higher level of care and started making calls to see who could see him. The drive from middle GA to Buford GA in holiday traffic was nearly 4 hours. The whole way we feared that we may possibly be facing losing our boy. When we arrived Ranger was quickly assessed and we were told that by sheer luck the surgeon had been called in and had agreed to come and read scan the following day. We left without our Ranger that night but most importantly we left with some hope! He stayed with you all for just over a week. He came home with a harness and was unable to bear weight on left rear. But the important thing was he came home!!! We can't even begin to tell you all how very grateful we are for all that you did to start our boy on a path to recovery. He did do follow up rehab, acupuncture, laser therapy, and underwater treadmill for about 4.5 mos (at Blue Pearl just due to distance from home to Buford). We are still doing home red light therapy and lots of massage and exercises. When we first started rehab they asked what our goal was for Ranger and we told them we wanted him hiking again. Ranger loves to hike (almost as much as he loves Chick Fila grilled nuggets). September 19th (6 days shy of his 10th month out) we departed home for a road trip to Banff, Kootenay, Yoho, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton. We hiked to 21 new waterfall "discoveries" for Ranger. He's not 100%, we don't hike more than 3 miles (don't want to push), but he's doing what he loves. For all that you all did in taking care of our wonderful adventurous boy, we thank you. This definitely would not have been possible without the top notch care he received at NGVS!!!! Thank you seems like so little when you all gave us back SO much but please know that we are incredibly grateful to you all.

Sincerely,

The Grizzles
Russell, Kim, Ranger, & Raven"
