A couple of our working students were surprised with a trail ride when they showed up. They work so hard to help out our lesson kiddos AND do so much for the horses behind the scenes. Truly couldn’t thank them enough!

Patch is slowly but surely coming back to work! He loves to have a job and misses riding with his buddies.

Barn Day!

We had a fun filled day with interactive games and lots of horse loving! It was a cold one, but these guys stuck it through. Riding in the cold makes hot chocolate taste SO much better❄️☕️

Barn Day!

We had a blast at barn day. We learned about bit mechanics using poles to understand how horses feel pressure. We rode, and Lil was used to learn how to lead, back, and turn through tight spaces. It is very important to learn how to properly maneuver a horse through obstacles, because you never know where you may get stuck with one in a tight spot!

The girls also made dream catchers out of old horse shoes. We used some feathers from our chickens and turkeys to add a special Big Creek Farm touch!

We hope to see everyone back at our next Barn Day. Dates will be shared soon!

Friday Horsemanship!

This morning our horses received chiropractic care, and Patch got acupuncture.

The lesson kids this evening learned what goes on beyond riding, because even on the days we don’t ride, the horses still need fed! We are thankful for some awesome kids and their equally awesome families💙🤍
